[00:00:00] I'm General Manager Ethan Rosignol at Darkars Toyota in Silver Spring. Inventory is the best

[00:00:06] it's been in years and Darkars Toyota has the car for you. Darkars Toyota is the Central

[00:00:12] Atlantic's number one Toyota dealer year after year after year. We currently offer more low

[00:00:17] and zero emission vehicles combined than any other automaker. Come visit us at Darkars

[00:00:23] Toyota Silver Spring or online at darkarstoyota.com. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas, Brandon. We're out of practice at this. We haven't done a party episode since October because we did all our daily episodes in November and December. Can you believe that? I can. Because I have no idea what I'm doing. Yeah, fair enough. I was prepping this last night. I forgot what we do. I had to go back to the October document

[00:01:40] to figure out what sections we even do.

[00:01:42] What is this?

[00:01:43] What is this show?

[00:01:44] Yeah, what do we do?

[00:01:45] What is this?

[00:01:46] We do a thing?

[00:01:46] I feel like you know what you're doing. But then I got to meet her, and she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met in my life. A wonderful human, and also hilarious and wonderful. And I am so excited to have her here. Jax, thank you for being here. I'm honored. We became Bramble Fest besties. We'll get t-shirts made for next year. We had a wonderful lunch.

[00:03:00] We got to chat about life and all sorts of things.

[00:03:02] And I realized this is a person I want in my life.

[00:03:05] You're stuck with me now.

[00:03:06] Yeah.

[00:03:07] Yeah. it more than ever. That's right. My house is bereft of Christmas or decorations now. Everything is down and that's when it really hit me. Although the music choice station on cable is still playing Christmas music. So I'm okay with that. I keep tuning it in and my wife's like, what are you doing? I'm like, ah, I just need it. I just need it. My daughter's okay with it.

[00:04:21] And it's literally the only reason you still have cable'm on right now. I do appreciate that. You know, 11, that's 11 opportunities for us to party together. That's right. And also guys, Christmas in July is really close. Oh gosh. So it, I mean, that's okay. Like we're, we're getting right there.

[00:05:40] How many months until Christmas in July, Brian?

[00:05:42] That'd be five. Five?

[00:05:43] Five. Five or six?

[00:05:45] Yeah. Yeah. Math. Math is hard.

[00:05:47] Right there. Christmas traditions. I am concerned that this guitar is wildly out of tune, but let's find out together. That's gonna make a big difference. Christmas traditions? Yep. Ah! Christmas traditions are time! We're having fun! That's exactly what I expected of a January Christmas party. That was great. I thought it was good.

[00:07:01] I enjoyed it. The falsetto's in right now. Everyone's singing in the falsetto.

[00:08:02] continue the celebration on or around the last day of each month since then.

[00:08:03] It is a wonderful excuse to treat ourselves

[00:08:06] to something fun to drink and catch up on the past month

[00:08:08] and our hopes for the coming month.

[00:08:11] I definitely recommend this celebration each month.

[00:08:13] It especially helps light in these first few

[00:08:15] post Christmas months.

[00:08:17] Merry Christmas.

[00:08:18] I love this idea.

[00:08:22] This idea is wonderful, isn't it?

[00:08:23] This is very nice.

[00:08:24] This is very nice.

[00:08:25] I, well, I month has gone by and we don't need a December to be joyous about Christmas.

[00:09:41] So sorry to hijack your thing, Marielle, there.

[00:09:43] I love it.

[00:09:44] I love this idea very much.

[00:09:46] And I'm not a big drinker, that's what. I love the word booze. Drink a smoothie like Bran has been doing. That's right, two smoothies a week. It's a thing. It's been putting an edge on your personality that I'm not fond of. It's booze. It's missing the booze. No, stop and enjoy the month with your friends. Remember that a month has gone by. We're only on this blue marble for so long.

[00:11:01] So thank you, Marielle, for that email.

[00:11:03] Thank you, Jax, for reading it.

[00:11:05] Bran, that half a month. Have you ever been there? I've never been there. I've never been there. I've been to Italy, but I haven't been

[00:12:22] to Santorini. I went to Rome with my my toe. Katie, sorry to hear that. I, I, I hope it healed quickly.

[00:13:42] I don't know. Yeah. I've never broken a toe before a pretty nice year, I gotta say. Bran, we have an audio clip from Lenora Gilbert. Oh, thank God. Our Christmas freak on the street, self-proclaimed. I know her well. And she's gonna tell us about her Christmas murder mystery party. Are you ready? Oh, very fun. Happy New Year to all you lovely Christmas morning people.

[00:15:02] Hope your holiday season was fantabulous.

[00:15:05] I'm Lenora, your Christmas was in the guide as I had two people that didn't eat meat and one that didn't eat

[00:16:20] vegetables. So, past and solid it was. I just pulled it up on YouTube. It was really easy. We celebrated at the end of the game with sticky toffee pudding that I'd made, and we had so much fun. I hope you were able to try it sometime. Happy New Year, everyone.

[00:17:42] Well, thank you, Lenora. That sounds like something.

[00:17:44] We're gonna leave it at something.

[00:17:46] Oh, I did win this Christmas.

[00:17:48] You wasn't gonna be fine. I don't quite fit in with them. I'm the only American, they're all English. They all drink, I don't drink. They all are like, they just have their whole culture. But it was funny because they're like, wow, you're really good at this. I'm like, I'm an actor. I've been waiting for this moment to show off. I was a Southern person, I got to do a Southern accent. I was like, off book.

[00:19:01] They were, I was like,

[00:19:03] they're finally complimenting me on something.

[00:19:05] Yeah, you were born for that.

[00:19:07] I was ready. Yeah, I had everyone over in my mansion. I had my 15 trees. It was no big deal. No big deal. Yeah. Pip pip, murder time. Murder time. Who's right for murder? AYY? I love to do some murder. I love to murder. Oh boy. We love it. We have to do one. The three of us have to do one. This has to be an episode. Yes, we do, but it has to be not right now because we have other emails to reach.

[00:20:21] Jax, would you be so kind?

[00:20:23] I will say Conan just did a murder mystery party

[00:20:26] on his podcast and it's a lot of fun. shopping online at discount tire dot com meet tredwell your personal online tire guide that matches you with the perfect tire for your vehicle get your best match in one minute or less with tredwell by discount tire jacks would you be so kind as to read our next email from christine lowe i would love to from christine lowe i won't do the whole thing in a dialect

[00:21:43] well that's unfortunate you can do it in any date you want to go Don't they have other stuff they have to do? Why are we leaving the White House Christmas tours up to the Congress people let them do Congress people stuff

[00:23:03] Have they heard about like online forms or tickets? I don't like what are we doing here? Thank you, Brand. And that Exmas morning pod. Morning pod. Exmas morning pod. That's right. Christmas was too long. So thank you. I do just want to let everybody know I just got word that Kristen is on the watch list for starting an email with, I have 300 pics of the White House. Yeah, so kidding. You can't start an email that way, apparently. They start to take notice.

[00:24:20] She did email this back in December,

[00:24:22] and there was no easy way to get this

[00:24:24] into one of our daily episodes.

[00:24:25] So I have been holding it for a while.

[00:24:27] Thanks for your patience, Kristen.

[00:24:28] I appreciate it. the listeners. Brann, I picked the ones that I thought were really going to get you excited. And the first one is this street sign underneath the, you know, so you have the thing that says Taffy Lane. Then there's like a custom sign underneath it that says, welcome to Taffy Lane. And it just brings me joy to look at this. Love that.

[00:25:40] I love the name Taffy Lane too.

[00:25:41] What a great name.

[00:25:42] Absolutely.

[00:25:43] Christmas Street.

[00:25:44] You know what vibes this was giving me though?

[00:25:45] This was giving me the Jolly Johnson's vibes. Like what do you do? I don't. I mean, that does, I'm afraid. I've never, we've never even cleaned the outside of our windows were up so high and I'm afraid of heights. And. But turn, are you by your window? Turn the camera around so that Scott can see this. Yeah.

[00:27:01] Oh, that's see, that's a perfect window

[00:27:02] for decorating brand.

[00:27:03] It's a little blown out,

[00:27:05] but you can see the Empire State Building kind of.

[00:27:07] It's very nice.

[00:27:08] It's not blown out. I wanted to share with you a photo of my favorite Christmas gift I've ever received that my awesome wife and partner gave me this year. That's nice. He knows what's up an early print edition of the original Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer story by Robert L May This is so cool as I'm sure you and your listeners know before the song and TV special

[00:28:22] Rudolph was a children's story written as part of a promotional

[00:29:23] I don't know anything about the rarity or the value. I did hear that because Montgomery Ward gave these away,

[00:29:26] that there were a lot of them.

[00:29:28] So I don't think we're talking about six figures

[00:29:31] or anything like that.

[00:29:32] But I would still treat this like it was the Ark

[00:29:34] of the Covenant or something.

[00:29:35] I love it.

[00:29:37] I will post the photo on our Instagram.

[00:29:39] What a thoughtful gift.

[00:29:42] This is the kind of thing my wife would do for me.

[00:29:43] Although I would tell her not to spend the money,

[00:29:46] I'd rather.

[00:29:46] We usually do things, Jack's told me we were invited. Jack said we were invited. Jack said we were invited to show up. I don't know what they do here in America, but this is low rent. Brandi, you go all out for Caitlin on Valentine's Day? No, no.

[00:31:04] We choose to show our love to each other every day. Yep, made up holiday.

[00:31:05] I was one day.

[00:31:06] I love my wife dearly.

[00:31:07] All right.

[00:31:08] Made up by Hallmark. a long time ago because I read the TV specials every week. I'm sorry, TV Scotty, not me, completely different guy, reads the TV specials every week. And we've said things like, oh, I wonder what that episode was about when they start showing up often. And he reached out and said, hey, I'll review it for you. So we've got this great symbiotic relationship here where he listens to the ones that kind of show up

[00:32:22] all the time.

[00:32:23] And one of them that showed up last year

[00:32:25] was a happy days episode called,

[00:32:27] Guess Who's better to give than to receive. Fonzie tells him that he's spending Christmas with his cousins in Waukesha, but it all sounds

[00:33:43] like a lie.

[00:33:45] That evening Richie notices that Fonzie hasnonz offers to read the night before Christmas because the one thing Fonz is really good at is reading poetry. Say, would someone like to read the night before Christmas? Oh hey, I'd love to do that. Would you mind if I did that?

[00:35:00] See, there's one thing I'm really great at and that's reading poetry, alright?

[00:35:03] I'd gather around.

[00:35:06] On Christmas Day, the family and the Fonz. I know, I know. Thanks, God. Henry Winkler sounded so young in that clip. I know. That's so weird. He's a legend. Yeah, I used to watch a lot of Happy Days growing up, Brian. I think it was one of those safe shows my mom could just turn on and, you know, use the TV like a babysitter.

[00:36:20] Well, the fun, the good thing about it is Sunday, Monday, Happy Days.

[00:36:23] Tuesday, Wednesday.

[00:36:25] Happy Days.

[00:36:26] Yeah, Thursday, Friday.

[00:36:27] Happy Days.

[00:36:27] Happy Days.

[00:36:28] But what happened on Saturday? hurt as many children as Dan does. Well, another toy I can be rough with. I like it. Oh, can you keep saying that? And this just rings all my bells. Are we at the point where we're trying to just offend six-year-olds and kids? Tastes like boogers. I didn't like that. You licked it. No more exposing myself. The judge says I couldn't do that anymore.

[00:37:42] Your life is my biggest fear.

[00:37:45] Scott's a cheater? to go eat some hot dogs and just walk around. Take that, high school Scotty, you nerd. Can we not dodge taxes live on the air? I'm not allowed back at Home Depot. There was some unpleasantness. I don't, I don't know anything. I don't know anything about anybody. Maybe it's the doogie, howser of trees. Give it to me.

[00:39:00] Give it.

[00:39:01] Doo doo head.

[00:39:02] I didn't know you were one of the fancy people.

[00:39:05] I don't think he knows how to spell a tree.

[00:40:04] that I do want to explain is, Jax, I was telling about a book by Christopher Moore called The Stupidest Angel.

[00:40:06] And it's about how the angel Gabriel comes to this town

[00:40:09] looking for the blessed child for Christmas.

[00:40:12] But he's wandering around like bars and stuff asking,

[00:40:15] looking for a child, and everyone thinks he's a pedophile.

[00:40:19] So you're not.

[00:40:19] So I just want to explain that one before anyone's calling

[00:40:23] the authorities or anything like that.

[00:40:25] That's everything else I stand behind.

[00:40:28] That was well done.

[00:40:28] That was awesome. Alex would just take the day off so he can, he can be on it and be our Brit. If we could do a crossover special would take the day off. Bring that back. Please do. It's take it off. It's murder mystery day. Yeah. Well, we did everybody. Congratulations to us. Congratulations to you. We're one month closer to Christmas. Uh, thanks for listening to us two days in a row. Uh, we'll be off until next

[00:41:41] Wednesday until then. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
