[00:00:02] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast

[00:00:04] I'm from the North Pole, it's time for Christmas Morning, the daily show where every day is Christmas. Here are your hosts, Bran and...

[00:00:32] Well, well, well, hello everybody and welcome to another episode of Christmas Morning. I'm Bran and I am here with Scott and nothing has gone wrong today.

[00:00:44] Today is a perfect day.

[00:00:46] Yeah, we have not been trying to make this work for the last 10 minutes. Everything is fine. How are you, Brandon?

[00:00:53] I'm doing quite well. I am in full Christmas spirit, Scott. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to go.

[00:01:01] I know what you're saying. I'm busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest though right now.

[00:01:06] We've got this episode, we've got the party episode, we've got a Halloween episode, and then we're going daily. And then I had to do a Tinsel Tunes.

[00:01:12] Yeah, well, you know what I always say, Scotty? It's better to go full blast than to work your way up, right? Isn't that the saying?

[00:01:20] I think so, but my arms are tired from dragging that mailbag around. It's so full.

[00:01:25] Oh my gosh. All right, well, let's open this sucker up.

[00:01:28] All right, let's do it.

[00:01:29] Letters. We get letters. We get stacks and stacks of letters.

[00:01:35] Our first email is from Simon. Do you remember Simon wrote in last week from South Africa and he said,

[00:01:41] how's it guys? And we said, what's that?

[00:01:43] Ah, yes, I do recall this.

[00:01:45] Well, he let us know that how's it is a South African thing. It's like saying, how are you doing?

[00:01:50] And I think since we're so busy, we should start saying how's it because that's just less words.

[00:01:55] Yeah, we'll start shortening everything.

[00:01:58] Everything. That's right.

[00:01:59] Well, it's morning.

[00:02:00] He also said, Bran, you are 100% correct.

[00:02:04] Gavi is a company that makes smart LED lighting from Christmas light strings all the way to strips

[00:02:08] you can put on your kitchen counters. It's like a commercial here. The list goes on and on,

[00:02:13] but they now have Halloween themed products this year. Go check them out.

[00:02:17] And on November 1st, these lights are going over to a Christmas theme.

[00:02:21] By the way, I have my tree on a Beetlejuice theme, purple green flashes.

[00:02:26] I will send you guys a video of it at night.

[00:02:28] That actually sounds really cool.

[00:02:30] That does sound pretty fun. I've never been tempted to do a Halloween tree, but this might

[00:02:36] might, uh, you know, I'm easily persuaded by videos of lights. I think my artificial Christmas

[00:02:41] tree is proof of that. So, uh, if I see the video, I don't know, I might, I might pull the,

[00:02:47] pull the, pull the punch. No, I might pull, pull the trigger is what the saying is.

[00:02:51] Pull the trigger. Yeah. Controversial opinion. It's not the tree for me. It's the lights.

[00:02:55] I think that's fair. So you could have a real tree. You could have an artificial tree. I don't care.

[00:03:00] I just want the lights to be pretty. Jam it full of lights. That's all I want.

[00:03:03] That's right. I've got an email from Jill and Xavier. Jill says, I visited my local garden

[00:03:07] center today in Enfield with my partner and son. I took a few quick photos of some Christmasy

[00:03:13] things I saw while inspecting the aisles. The Christmas rat type creature baffles me.

[00:03:18] No idea who would fancy a life-size one in their home, but to each their own, right? I only bought

[00:03:24] two things, a green glass Christmas tree that lights up and a cute little milk jug with a Christmas

[00:03:29] pudding on it, a pud, uh, to add to my Christmas coffee station after Halloween. Now I'm looking

[00:03:35] at these photos, Brian, this rat type thing that Jill's talking about. Isn't this Rizzo the rat from

[00:03:40] the Muppet Christmas Carol? Oh, you know what? That's interesting. Or am I just projecting?

[00:03:44] Like it looks like it to me, right? That's a, yeah. That's the first thing I thought,

[00:03:50] but if it's not licensed, okay. It's just a rat. I don't know. Yeah. I don't, whatever it is,

[00:03:54] it is kind of working for me to be honest with you. I don't dislike it. There's something about

[00:04:01] it that I kind of like. I like this thing that says Santa Claus lane with all the Santa dinosaurs

[00:04:05] in it. I really like that. They get some cool stuff going on over there. Very unique, very interesting.

[00:04:11] Um, and we had a box from Jill and Xavier, Scotty, that I think we're going to open to kick off

[00:04:17] the holiday season here in a, in a week or so. So I'm pretty excited about that.

[00:04:21] Anything that arrives, people are so kind and generous right now. We will do it on our daily

[00:04:26] episodes. I did get a box from our friend, Jimmy in Sweden with you. You'll come and you'll

[00:04:33] must. So I need to divvy that up and get it in the mail to you so that we can try it together.

[00:04:39] All right. I like the sound of that. Yeah. So check out these photos from Jill and Xavier on

[00:04:44] Instagram. Thank you, Jill. Really liked that mug with the little pud on it. That thing's cute.

[00:04:48] That is cute. I got an email from David Scarborough. David says, I binge watched the Christmas

[00:04:53] aficionados 1980s episodes. My takeaway is 1986 was a dark train wreck of movies and specials.

[00:05:01] 1988 was wonderful. I lived through all of them and 88 was great. I started watching Christmas

[00:05:06] movies this week. I kicked it off with Scrooge and then Christmas episodes of Frasier. I hope

[00:05:11] you guys get as much enjoyment from the cookbook as my family. And what David is talking about

[00:05:16] here is something that we'll be talking about later this week on the party episode.

[00:05:21] Oh, very nice.

[00:05:23] The party episode is very cooking and eating heavy this week. It is fantastic.

[00:05:28] Good teas, Scotty. Good teas.

[00:05:31] Yeah. I've got an email from Lenora Gilbert. Lenora says,

[00:05:33] True Tone added these two new items this year, Sputnik light covers and light reflectors.

[00:05:39] I cannot wait to put them on the tree. And she added a photo here. I included this for you,

[00:05:44] Brand, because I know you are a Christmas light aficionado and you also love the modern vintage.

[00:05:50] Yes. Yes, I do indeed, Scotty. And these look so nice. I wish I had Lenora's budget for

[00:05:56] decorating though. Wow. I can only imagine how much these five things cost, but totally worth it.

[00:06:01] Yeah. I can't please send a picture of them lit up. I want to see, although Christmas lights are,

[00:06:06] are tough to photograph, you know, but I still would like to see these lit up. Very cool.

[00:06:12] Yeah. You mostly have to see them in person and that makes it very tough, but still try. I love

[00:06:17] them. Even what is it like a bad pizza, still good pizza, a bad photo of Christmas lights is still a

[00:06:23] great photo. It's still something. That's exactly right.

[00:06:25] And I'm not saying Lenora's photo is bad. Lenora's photo is actually quite good here.

[00:06:29] The picture of the lights on the table, like this is, did you, are you a photographer?

[00:06:34] Yeah. No kidding. Huh?

[00:06:35] They should put that on their website.

[00:06:36] You should visit Lenora's eBay store. I have an email from Lance Garman. Lance says it was finally

[00:06:42] cold enough to wear my Christmas morning hat on a morning dog walk. And Lance even included a photo.

[00:06:48] Now here's the thing about Lance. Lance does not look like Max Headroom. And I thought he was going to

[00:06:53] because Lance loves the eighties synth pop electronica stuff. Yep. Uh, the other thing

[00:06:59] that was very confusing was Lenora's email and Lance's email arrived at the same time. And I

[00:07:04] clicked on Lance's first and I thought, I was like, Lenora doesn't look like I remember,

[00:07:10] like I remember that. No, no. But Lance looking sharp here in this hat, everyone be like Lance

[00:07:16] for all things, really for music, but for mostly right now for this hat.

[00:07:20] That's right. Christmas morning podcast.com slash shop. Um, it's a great hat. I rock that hat. I

[00:07:27] also rock the Christmas cardigan. And so, uh, some great options up there. And you can also just get

[00:07:33] a sticker. The sticker's nice too. Lance looks better than I would in this hat. It's tough to be a six

[00:07:38] foot three bald guy wearing like a watch cap. Cause it kind of gives off vibes. Like, like I'm a little

[00:07:44] bit wacky, but nobody knows you're bald when you do that. So that is true. That's true.

[00:07:49] Not that there's anything wrong with being bald. Oh, no, no. It's, it's how the good Lord made me,

[00:07:53] you know? Well, he just ran out of hair that day. He ran out of hair. Well, he's fine. Set him down.

[00:08:00] Okay. I've got an email that you're, this is the last one for today. This is from Mallory Garkey.

[00:08:05] Mallory says, after hearing your October 16th episode, I did a search for Orlando magic advent

[00:08:11] calendars. And while I didn't find one, I did find a fun NBA advent calendar that comes with miniature

[00:08:17] players and mini basketballs. I've attached an image and included a link below brand. I saw this

[00:08:24] and I thought, Oh my gosh, he's going to love this. This is going to be like me getting the Amazon toy

[00:08:29] catalog in the mail. Look at your face. This is amazing. I, the, my only hesitation here is,

[00:08:34] is I don't know what inspired household is. Is it a reputable store? Yeah. I'm going to fight

[00:08:41] with my credit card company right now over a disreputable store. Not this one, something

[00:08:45] completely different, but yeah, I'm, I'm with you. I know what it, I know what you mean,

[00:08:49] but it looks awesome. It does look really cool. I'm going to, I'm going to do some research on

[00:08:54] this website. And if I, if I feel good about it, I'm going to, it's on sale right now for 32 99.

[00:08:59] I mean, I don't want to lose money on the deal. You know what I mean? Well, you know,

[00:09:03] you'll get it back eventually, but it looks totally worth it. Brand. I think you should do it.

[00:09:07] All right. You should pull the trigger. All right. I will. I can call your wife if you need me to.

[00:09:10] No, I think I get, she'll understand. Yeah. Oh, and if you buy six, you get 30% off.

[00:09:18] You'd have a hundred and a 172 little mini toys at the end of the season. If you bought six.

[00:09:25] Yeah. But think of all the people I could make happy too. Oh, I thought they were all for you.

[00:09:29] I mean, most. Yeah. Hey, how are we doing in the review department? And please don't give me

[00:09:34] another three-star thing about how we're just a bunch of crap. Well, I, I'm not going to do that

[00:09:39] because we got a nice one today from captain. By the way, I did get a couple of nice emails that

[00:09:44] said, Hey, forget that person. So thank you for the people who did that. They understand that TV

[00:09:49] Scotty is very thin skinned. Yeah. I love bad reviews. So please, they give me life. I live for them,

[00:09:57] Scotty. Yeah. I'm not quite there yet. I'm at the point of the programming where I put a lot of effort

[00:10:02] into this and it hurts when people aren't nice, but give me a nice one. I see your effort and I love

[00:10:08] it. Um, captain, captain Cav man says, uh, it's the most wonderful podcast of the year. Christmas

[00:10:15] morning keeps you in the spirit all year round and also clinically proven to cure your post holiday

[00:10:22] blues. Brandon Scott and sometimes Shannon are upbeat and deliver pure concentrated pine

[00:10:28] unscented joy with their fun segments like Christmas music battles, Christmas television listings. Um,

[00:10:36] the always exciting countdown. And of course the terrible jokes, if you love Christmas and want

[00:10:41] a cheerful, festive, sometimes heartwarming, pick me up. This podcast is definitely for you. It's perfect

[00:10:48] to keep that holiday spirit alive, even in the middle of July. Thank you, captain Cav man. This was

[00:10:54] very nice. That was a really nice review. Really made my day. Brand, do you get the caveman joke?

[00:11:01] No, there used to be a cartoon called captain caveman. Oh, okay. You go captain caveman and it

[00:11:08] would bang his, his, uh, you know, wood stick into the ground. I thought maybe he was a big Cleveland

[00:11:13] Cavalier fan. I was going to get him one of these NBA advent calendars. There's a tie in there, but

[00:11:17] thank you, captain Cav man. Really appreciate that. Thank you. Uh, you got a joke for us, Scotty.

[00:11:21] I do, but this one's more of a one-liner, but I ran it by Emma, my 11 year old daughter. She

[00:11:27] laughs. She's the, she's listen, she's the baseline for us. I asked my wife what she wanted

[00:11:31] for Christmas. And she said, nothing would make her happier than a diamond necklace. So I bought

[00:11:37] her nothing. That's good. That, and this opens up a whole new world. We haven't explored yet,

[00:11:44] Scotty of Christmas one-liners. Yeah, but it does break the back and forth. Uh, you know, it's like a

[00:11:50] knock, knock, knock, knock, knock. Who's there? And, and, but I liked this one. I thought it was

[00:11:54] pretty good. So if you disagree, go email someone else. That's exactly right. Or just, you know,

[00:11:59] go, go get yourself nothing. I'll see the countdown. 63 days into Christmas. 63, Scotty, are you kidding

[00:12:15] me right now? Bran, I have a little, actually I have multiple at this point, uh, countdown clocks on my

[00:12:21] desk and I looked over and saw 63 and I thought, nah, that's broken. But no, it's 63. And now I'm

[00:12:29] starting to get the Christmas panic. I still, I got, oh, this is, uh, for audio obviously, but this is

[00:12:35] my favorite of the countdown clocks. Oh yeah. The one that was made for us. They're beautiful.

[00:12:40] Love it. It's amazing. I love this one. I sometimes forget to change it. You know what? I think there's

[00:12:45] a fun in forgetting to change it. Cause you look at it and it reminds you that you, there's a thing

[00:12:50] that hasn't been top of mind. And then you get to have this fun of like changing the things and

[00:12:55] catching up with it. You feel good. I love it. I love it so much. It's very nice. It's one of the

[00:12:59] nicest things anybody ever sent me. So it's very nice. Um, Hey, I got some news if you want. Yeah,

[00:13:05] let's do the news. Saturday is October 23rd. Here's the news. This is the first brand a first, uh,

[00:13:17] cause somebody sent in a news request. Is that what it is? Yeah. People are starting to do our job for us.

[00:13:23] We obviously have music sent in. Now we got news sent in and I love this. Yes. Tia horn sent this

[00:13:31] in letting us know, uh, a few, it might've been a month ago now, or even a little bit longer,

[00:13:36] but we talked about how Macaulay Culkin is going on tour, uh, which by the way, I'm going to,

[00:13:42] uh, I know. He's going to be in New Jersey Christmas con weekend. So we're going to venture

[00:13:49] over on a Friday night, Friday night of Christmas. Oh boy. That's fantastic. It's going to be a lot of

[00:13:54] fun. Um, but, uh, we talked about how he's going on a tour and, uh, you get to watch the home alone

[00:14:00] and he's going to do a little Q and a, uh, well, uh, Tia horn sent in and wanted to let us know that

[00:14:05] Chevy chase is going to be doing the same thing with Christmas vacation, um, going to 13 cities

[00:14:11] between November 22nd and December 29th. Now, um, this actually happened last year as well.

[00:14:19] And apparently was relatively depressing, uh, depending on the, the stop that you went to,

[00:14:26] apparently there were some stops that Chevy chase just wasn't excited to be at. So I saw one, so one,

[00:14:35] uh, article about how hopefully Macaulay Culkin's tour is a little bit less depressing than Chevy

[00:14:40] chase's tour. Um, but interestingly enough, Scotty, both by the same company, the, the touring company,

[00:14:47] uh, standing ovations life, um, is doing both of these tours. So clearly they've gotten something

[00:14:53] figured out with this nostalgic Christmas live tour thing. And so good for them and good for us.

[00:14:59] If you're a fan of Christmas vacation, hopefully this is a good time. Uh, but I, of course,

[00:15:04] I'm going to report back, um, come December and let you know how it was at the home alone,

[00:15:10] Macaulay Culkin show. I I I'm excited about it. I think it's gonna be really fun, but, uh,

[00:15:14] let us know if you're going to one of these, please report in and let us know what it was like

[00:15:20] in the show that you're at, because apparently depending on the show, Chevy chase, believe it

[00:15:25] or not, it could be a real, but back to you, Scotty. Well, Tia wrote in her email that he's going to be

[00:15:32] in Denver on December 11th. Okay. But I'm with you on this one. Chevy chase kind of depresses me.

[00:15:41] And the reason I say that it's, it's not Chevy's fault. It's time because I remember Chevy chase

[00:15:47] from Saturday night live. And I remember him from Christmas vacation. Then all of a sudden years

[00:15:52] later, he showed up on community and you were like, who is this old man? And it's kind of like

[00:15:57] the daily insult of the bathroom mirror. Every time I get up in the morning and look at myself,

[00:16:01] I don't want to be reminded that I'm an old man. Sure. And it's a little bit hard. And if there's

[00:16:06] any chance, he's not going to be super upbeat, I can't do it. So I'm going to pass on the Chevy

[00:16:12] chase show. I don't think he liked being reminded he was an old man either, which is why he left

[00:16:16] communities. Oh yeah. Clearly, uh, clearly he doesn't like that either, but yeah, I, did you see

[00:16:22] the, uh, you don't go to the movies, do you? But, uh, the Saturday, the movie with was with you,

[00:16:28] uh, the Saturday, there's a movie called Saturday night. That's out right now. And it's about,

[00:16:31] um, the, the lead up, uh, to the very first episode of Saturday night life and all the chaos.

[00:16:38] Sounds fun. Um, and so there, there's, you know, a Chevy chase person playing Chevy chase and all

[00:16:43] these other people. So, uh, it's very interesting, very fun. Uh, would recommend if you're interested

[00:16:48] in that type of thing. Cool. Uh, let's take a break, Scotty. We'll come back and we'll get to

[00:16:52] the, uh, the, the Christmas music battle, of course, and the TV listings, uh, here on Christmas morning.

[00:17:02] Welcome back everybody to Christmas morning, the Christmas TV listings, Scotty TV, Scotty

[00:17:10] are beginning to pop off. There's lots to look forward to. Of course you have your hallmark,

[00:17:17] your hallmark mystery that has switched to all Christmas, but there's also more and more just

[00:17:21] kind of out in the wild, which is always really exciting. So TV's got to take it away, buddy.

[00:17:25] Yeah. I'd like to apologize again for the mid air meltdown last week, uh, where I just

[00:17:31] highlights of the year for me is you just being like, this isn't worth it. I was just listening

[00:17:36] to a while I was editing it and I thought, Oh, what happened here? But it was, it was natural.

[00:17:41] And sometimes I think our joy comes through in our naturalness. Uh, and it was there, it was honest.

[00:17:48] It was an honest reaction to, Oh my gosh, there is so much here. We can't read this anymore. So

[00:17:53] it's easier to just turn it on and just let it happen. Oh, I tried, but I tried and I failed.

[00:18:00] No, I meant for the listeners instead of hearing them all. It's just exactly. Your favorite movie

[00:18:06] will air at some point between now and Christmas on the hallmark channel. Just turn it on.

[00:18:11] I think the surprise is part of it though, because I've been turning on hallmark when there's nothing

[00:18:16] else on TV. And because I'm an old man, I love watching the weather channel. There's only so

[00:18:20] much of that you can watch. So I turn on hallmark and I was like, Oh look, haul out the holly. Hey,

[00:18:25] how about that? That was pretty good. My problem with the weather channel, Scotty,

[00:18:28] now that we're doing this is, uh, you know, you get like a four minute segment, a commercial break,

[00:18:35] then weather on the eights. And then another commercial. It's like, it's just so like short

[00:18:40] little segments, long commercial break, local weather. That's just to some smooth jazz, you know,

[00:18:46] not enough detailed weather talk for me, you know? No, there's, there's an afternoon show called

[00:18:51] weather unfiltered. It used to be called weather underground. I really like that for the reasons

[00:18:55] that you're talking about, but otherwise, yeah, you're right. It doesn't do it for me, but if you

[00:18:59] do like that smooth jazz music, you can go to twcclassics.com and they have old video and old

[00:19:05] audio of, of old weather channel stuff. And boy, is that fun. You can listen to all the Kenny G you

[00:19:11] want. So, uh, that's not today though. Let's, let's do the Christmas TV specials. So here are your

[00:19:16] Christmas TV specials. Only the new ones on hallmark and hallmark mysteries. Of course.

[00:21:33] courtesy of mostly Christmas.com.

[00:21:35] There you go. And Scotty, how does it feel knowing that you only got a one more week of reading multiple days?

[00:21:42] Yeah. The work shifts to a different type of workload, but yeah,

[00:21:46] it's a different type, you know, it's a different type.

[00:21:50] It's time for the Christmas battle Scotty. And, uh,

[00:21:53] last week we did the instrumental Christmas music battle and it was a fun one.

[00:21:59] We've got the results in last place is Oh Come Emmanuel by folk angel.

[00:22:05] I think the people were with me. They were promised folk.

[00:22:08] They didn't get folk.

[00:22:09] Yeah, but they got this epic instrumental.

[00:22:12] I thought it was so good.

[00:22:14] And nothing like going to war and Chris with Christmas music.

[00:22:17] You know,

[00:22:18] I know I was painting my face with red and green face paint and beating my chest.

[00:22:22] This was brought to us by listener,

[00:22:24] drew basic and MVP of the music battles. Thank you,

[00:22:27] drew.

[00:22:27] Uh,

[00:22:28] in second place,

[00:22:29] once again,

[00:22:31] we wish you a jingle bells by the thing.

[00:22:35] Funko strong.

[00:22:36] What is happening?

[00:22:38] Scotty.

[00:22:39] It's bias against funko strong.

[00:22:41] We know that this is so good.

[00:22:43] So good.

[00:22:44] It's so good,

[00:22:45] but I'm not complaining Scotty.

[00:22:46] Cause in first places,

[00:22:47] Santa Claus is coming to town by Jim self and the Hollywood tuba 12.

[00:22:55] Tuba got some love this week,

[00:22:57] Scotty.

[00:22:58] Well,

[00:22:58] we had that really nice Christmas music fact brought to us by Janice

[00:23:01] Garner about the tuba.

[00:23:03] You think it was the facts that,

[00:23:05] uh,

[00:23:05] I think it was,

[00:23:05] I think it primed the,

[00:23:07] all right.

[00:23:07] I don't hate it.

[00:23:08] It worked well for me,

[00:23:09] even though I have no chance of winning for the year.

[00:23:12] It's nice to get one before the holiday season begins,

[00:23:14] you know?

[00:23:15] Yeah,

[00:23:15] but you caught up,

[00:23:16] you have a very respectable showing.

[00:23:18] Thank you.

[00:23:19] That's,

[00:23:19] that's all that I'm looking for.

[00:23:20] You're not a third party candidate here with 1% of the vote.

[00:23:23] You did really well.

[00:23:24] The red and green.

[00:23:25] That was a good one.

[00:23:26] It inspired me to listen to some Canadian brass,

[00:23:30] which I love listening to.

[00:23:31] I know the brass is so good.

[00:23:33] Uh,

[00:23:33] you know,

[00:23:34] what's not so good is this week's battle,

[00:23:35] but let's get to it anyway.

[00:23:37] It's time for,

[00:23:37] uh,

[00:23:38] underneath the tree,

[00:23:40] the Kelly Clarkson smash hit.

[00:23:42] You got a fun fact for us,

[00:23:43] Scotty.

[00:23:43] I do.

[00:23:44] Internationally,

[00:23:45] underneath the tree became a recurring top 40 hit in Austria,

[00:23:49] Canada,

[00:23:50] Czech Republic,

[00:23:50] Germany,

[00:23:51] Hungary,

[00:23:52] Hungary,

[00:23:52] Hungary,

[00:23:54] Latvia,

[00:23:55] the Netherlands,

[00:23:56] Slovakia,

[00:23:56] Switzerland,

[00:23:57] and the United Kingdom,

[00:23:58] as well as the United States.

[00:24:00] So I thought that was pretty neat.

[00:24:02] I didn't realize the reach of this song was so large.

[00:24:05] There you go.

[00:24:06] Now you like this song.

[00:24:07] I do.

[00:24:07] I like this song a lot.

[00:24:09] And is that because of your personal connection with the artist?

[00:24:12] Oh,

[00:24:12] that me and Kelly Clarkson are friends?

[00:24:14] Uh,

[00:24:14] no.

[00:24:15] Uh,

[00:24:15] watch your feet,

[00:24:16] everybody.

[00:24:16] Brand's dropping names.

[00:24:17] I think that both of her Christmas albums are just straight bangers.

[00:24:23] So big fan.

[00:24:24] I think if I met her in person,

[00:24:26] I'd have an improved opinion.

[00:24:27] I don't know how you don't like,

[00:24:29] like,

[00:24:29] I don't think there's a more powerful pop vocalist out there right now in the top 40 world.

[00:24:34] I don't know.

[00:24:35] I don't know what else you want,

[00:24:36] Scotty.

[00:24:36] She's a powerful singer.

[00:24:38] I think her personality would draw me in is the point.

[00:24:42] All right.

[00:24:43] Cause you have said multiple times that she is one of the nicest people you've ever met.

[00:24:47] She's so nice.

[00:24:48] She's so nice.

[00:24:49] Um,

[00:24:49] let's get to it underneath the tree,

[00:24:51] a song that I think if you listen to the radio over the next two months,

[00:24:54] you'll probably hear a thousand times.

[00:24:56] Um,

[00:24:57] but let's see if there's any good covers out there,

[00:25:00] Scotty.

[00:25:00] Let's,

[00:25:01] uh,

[00:25:01] let's start with underneath the tree by sons of nothing.

[00:25:06] All right.

[00:25:07] You're here where you should be.

[00:25:10] Snow is falling as the carolers sing.

[00:25:14] It just wasn't the same.

[00:25:17] Alone on Christmas day.

[00:25:21] Presents,

[00:25:22] what a beautiful sight.

[00:25:24] Don't mean a thing if you ain't holding me tight.

[00:25:41] Make sure that you know I was lost.

[00:25:50] Christmas was cold and gray.

[00:25:54] Just another holiday.

[00:25:58] Alone to celebrate.

[00:26:07] Change.

[00:26:08] You're all I need.

[00:26:11] Underneath the tree.

[00:26:12] You're here.

[00:26:13] Well,

[00:26:13] that was an interesting one.

[00:26:14] Uh,

[00:26:15] you don't get enough of the,

[00:26:16] what's that?

[00:26:16] Like the wood block thing.

[00:26:18] Yeah.

[00:26:18] What do you call those things?

[00:26:19] Those little clam things.

[00:26:22] I liked it.

[00:26:23] It was nice.

[00:26:24] It was a sweet little version.

[00:26:25] I think it was unlike anything I've ever heard of this song before.

[00:26:29] So very good.

[00:26:30] That's true.

[00:26:30] Uh,

[00:26:31] well,

[00:26:31] there's more of that came from up next is underneath the tree by Robert Merrill.

[00:27:35] Brandon.

[00:27:35] I'm not sure what just happened there.

[00:27:36] That was wild.

[00:27:38] I think a ghost sang to us.

[00:27:41] I think Robert Merrill might be a ghost.

[00:27:44] I enjoyed it because it was not what I expected.

[00:27:47] And I think the battle in general was like this too.

[00:27:50] I thought it was going to be one thing and it was not.

[00:27:53] It was not.

[00:27:54] Let's see if,

[00:27:55] uh,

[00:27:55] we got a more traditional cover.

[00:27:58] I don't know.

[00:27:58] We'll find out.

[00:27:58] This is underneath the tree by Rollin hand and cinnamon Carter.

[00:28:02] What a name.

[00:29:01] All right,

[00:29:01] brand.

[00:29:01] That was the one that played it pretty straight,

[00:29:03] pretty straight cinnamon Carter there on the vocals.

[00:29:06] I assume.

[00:29:07] I'm,

[00:29:07] I'm assuming that was not Rollin hand,

[00:29:10] especially from the album art.

[00:29:11] So good showing this week.

[00:29:13] And we got listener submissions from Lance Garman,

[00:29:15] Jessica Trinidad,

[00:29:16] Jack Unverforth,

[00:29:17] and Katie Leapack.

[00:29:18] Thank you all for submitting.

[00:29:19] We only have one more battle brand.

[00:29:21] Wow.

[00:29:22] That's hard to believe.

[00:29:24] That's hard to believe,

[00:29:25] but I have exciting news about the next battle.

[00:29:27] What's that?

[00:29:27] We've never done candy cane lane by Sia.

[00:29:31] Really?

[00:29:31] And I love that song.

[00:29:34] It's a great song.

[00:29:34] That song comes on.

[00:29:36] I cannot stop singing it for good reason.

[00:29:39] And it's not an easy song to sing either.

[00:29:42] There's a lot of vocal gymnastics that happened there.

[00:29:45] There's no mistake in Sia's voice.

[00:29:47] That's for certain.

[00:29:48] Not at all.

[00:29:49] And I love it.

[00:29:49] So go to bandcamp.com,

[00:29:52] not .org,

[00:29:54] and search.

[00:29:55] I don't know.

[00:29:55] Maybe that's another thing.

[00:29:57] Search for candy cane lane.

[00:29:59] Find a cover.

[00:30:00] I hope there are plenty of covers of this one.

[00:30:03] I did a quick search,

[00:30:04] and a lot came up,

[00:30:05] but I didn't go through it with a fine tooth comb,

[00:30:07] and sometimes that's come back to bite us.

[00:30:09] So we'll see what happens.

[00:30:10] But it's the last battle.

[00:30:11] The listeners have already won it for the season.

[00:30:13] So find something you like and email it to me at christmasmorningpodcast at gmail.com.

[00:30:18] That's right.

[00:30:19] Scott, it has been so much fun,

[00:30:21] and it's been so much fun that I think maybe we should do it again on Friday.

[00:30:24] I think we should.

[00:30:25] We should throw a Christmas party.

[00:30:27] How about that?

[00:30:27] I'll meet you there.

[00:30:28] I'll meet you there.

[00:30:29] We'll be back on Friday with that.

[00:30:31] We'll be back with our regular episode next Wednesday,

[00:30:34] our Halloween episode next Thursday,

[00:30:36] and then technically daily starts on Friday.

[00:30:39] Oh, boy.

[00:30:40] Technically, that's...

[00:30:41] You guys get it.

[00:30:42] We'll be back then with those.

[00:30:43] Send some monster energy sugar-free for me, please.

[00:30:46] There you go.

[00:30:46] Merry Christmas, everybody.

[00:30:58] You're about to hear some ads that help pay for our trip back and forth to the North Pole.

[00:31:02] Feel free to listen.

[00:31:03] Feel free to bail now.

[00:31:04] But either way, thanks for being here.

[00:31:07] Ho, ho, ho.
