[00:00:00] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast

[00:00:05] Live from the North Pole, it's time for Christmas Morning, the daily show where every day is Christmas.

[00:00:22] Here are your hosts, Bram and Scott.

[00:00:31] Well, hello everybody! Merry Christmas to you. It's your good friend, Brandon. I'm here with my good friend, Scott.

[00:00:38] Scott, Merry Christmas.

[00:00:40] Merry Christmas to you, Brandon. I thought of you this week.

[00:00:43] You thought of me?

[00:00:45] I did. Yeah, I've got a little holiday tradition that I seem to do that I wasn't even aware of.

[00:00:51] Wow, in April, huh?

[00:00:52] Oh, this is year long, dude.

[00:00:54] Okay.

[00:00:55] I noticed when I was reaching for a coffee mug the other day that I keep my cabinet stocked with Christmas mugs all year long.

[00:01:02] And I know I'm not the only one who does this.

[00:01:04] I do as well.

[00:01:05] But here's the thing that made me think of you.

[00:01:07] What?

[00:01:08] There's a couple non-Christmas mugs in there.

[00:01:10] I actively reach around them and get the Christmas ones out.

[00:01:14] That's right.

[00:01:15] And it's April.

[00:01:16] That's right.

[00:01:17] And it's not some intentional thing where I do it and I'm thinking about it.

[00:01:19] It was like, no, I just need my Christmas mug.

[00:01:22] And I liked that.

[00:01:23] That gave me a little bit of smile when I realized that I was doing it.

[00:01:26] It's the only logical thing to do, Scotty.

[00:01:28] People might think that it's weird, but I think they're the weird ones.

[00:01:31] If you're not reaching around the boring mugs to get a Christmas mug in April,

[00:01:36] I probably won't get along with you.

[00:01:39] Yeah.

[00:01:40] And why do I even have the boring mugs?

[00:01:42] I don't know.

[00:01:43] That's the other thing.

[00:01:44] How is this happening?

[00:01:45] Yeah, I think they just, they're just kind of there to fill up space, you know?

[00:01:48] I think it's if somebody came over and I didn't want to unleash all my Christmas

[00:01:53] crazy on them, I would give them one of the boring ones.

[00:01:56] But how often does this happen?

[00:01:58] It really doesn't in my life.

[00:02:00] And if you have a Fourth of July mug, I don't know what to tell you.

[00:02:02] I mean, it's good one day a year.

[00:02:04] I'll rock a Fourth of July mug on the Fourth of July.

[00:02:07] I'll rock Christmas mugs all year.

[00:02:09] It's just logic.

[00:02:12] Here's my request to listeners.

[00:02:14] Send in photos of your Christmas mugs.

[00:02:16] If you keep them out year round, just snap a photo.

[00:02:19] It doesn't have to be Ansel Adams quality here.

[00:02:21] I just want to see it.

[00:02:22] It's going to put a huge smile on my face.

[00:02:25] Christmas morning podcast at gmail.com.

[00:02:27] If I had unlimited space, I would have a full wall of shelves and it's just all Christmas mugs.

[00:02:35] Oh, I love that.

[00:02:36] Like little cubbies.

[00:02:37] I want little individual ones, a whole wall of it.

[00:02:40] That would be great.

[00:02:41] Although dust, I don't know.

[00:02:42] Behind glass.

[00:02:43] Who knows?

[00:02:44] No dust.

[00:02:45] Sir, I'm going to need a custom house built.

[00:02:47] The centerpiece of the house is going to be my Christmas mug glass collection.

[00:02:52] I want people to walk in and the first thing they see is a wall of glass and behind the glass are Christmas mugs.

[00:02:59] It's like when you go to a fancy restaurant and you walk in and they have some kind of like huge wine display.

[00:03:04] Well, I don't need that.

[00:03:05] I need my Christmas mug display.

[00:03:07] Absolutely.

[00:03:08] You know what else I need, Scotty?

[00:03:10] What do you need, Bran?

[00:03:11] I need a little bit of Christmas mail bag.

[00:03:15] Oh, yes you do and you're going to like today's.

[00:03:18] Let me open up the old mail bag.

[00:03:19] Ooh!

[00:03:20] Letters.

[00:03:21] We get letters.

[00:03:22] We get stacks and stacks of letters.

[00:03:26] Brandon, I've got an email here that you're going to like.

[00:03:29] I can't wait.

[00:03:30] This is from the band Little Red Ambulance.

[00:03:32] Do you remember?

[00:03:33] Oh, I remember, Scotty.

[00:03:35] You're going to have to hop in the way back machine.

[00:03:37] We're going back to January on this one.

[00:03:39] I remember.

[00:03:40] One of their songs was suggested to us and the suggestor, the person said,

[00:03:47] I know for a fact the whole band listens to your podcast.

[00:03:50] Well, I have more info on it now.

[00:03:53] Are you ready?

[00:03:54] I'm so ready.

[00:03:55] Okay.

[00:03:56] Says dear Brandon Scott, Lloyd here.

[00:03:59] Aside from thoroughly enjoying the show,

[00:04:01] I thought you'd like to know that you had the band in stitches during your January 17th episode earlier this year

[00:04:08] and you commended our band for not self-promoting.

[00:04:11] We must come clean that Phil, who cheekily provided our nomination,

[00:04:16] is in fact our lead vocalist and we've given him a lot of stick for it,

[00:04:20] but we're delighted to debut in and win one of your original Christmas song battles.

[00:04:26] Well first, Brandon, I have no problem with this whatsoever.

[00:04:29] Even if it was a ruse, I am totally fine with it because honestly,

[00:04:33] if Phil had come clean at the time, it would have seemed kind of spammy probably.

[00:04:37] I think Phil did the right thing here.

[00:04:39] Phil did the right thing and this is the type of lying that I think the good Lord's okay with.

[00:04:44] Absolutely.

[00:04:45] In particular.

[00:04:46] This is a white lie, but I think it's okay.

[00:04:48] I recall that Bran in particular enjoyed our song

[00:04:52] and we are super excited that you have proposed to air another one of our tunes,

[00:04:56] A Snowman Stole My Wife in one of your Christmas Party episodes.

[00:05:00] We await that with excitement because it has far-reaching appeal

[00:05:04] and was so much fun to put together.

[00:05:06] I note that Phil didn't mention we have yet another Christmas song

[00:05:10] that in my humble opinion suits your show almost perfectly.

[00:05:14] Not only is it full of Christmas cheer and is upbeat,

[00:05:17] it is called Christmas in the Morning and of course it's on Bandcamp.

[00:05:20] Once again, loving the regular episodes this time of year to keep the spirit going.

[00:05:24] Thank you.

[00:05:25] Keep it up and don't be afraid of sharing more little red ambulance with your audience.

[00:05:29] They don't know what they're missing

[00:05:31] and shout out to Drew Basic.

[00:05:33] They always contribute an option of ours for every song battle.

[00:05:37] All the best from across the pond, Lloyd.

[00:05:40] What do you think, Bran?

[00:05:41] I love that and I just want to say we have a Christmas Party episode

[00:05:45] coming up next week, next Thursday

[00:05:48] and maybe in the next week or so,

[00:05:51] Lloyd and the group can put together a little voice recording

[00:05:55] of them telling us about Snowman Stole My Wife and the story behind it.

[00:06:00] Then we'll play a little of the song. Maybe do something like that.

[00:06:03] We've got a party coming up. I'd love to hear just the title alone.

[00:06:06] I'm intrigued and also I have questions about.

[00:06:09] So if they're listening and they would like to submit something for the Christmas Party episode

[00:06:15] that's coming up next week, Christmas Morning Podcast at gmail.com.

[00:06:18] Well, I'm nothing if not thorough and I already followed up with Lloyd

[00:06:22] and said, hey, can we play one of these songs?

[00:06:25] Are you cool with it?

[00:06:26] And they said they would love that and I asked them to provide some backstory

[00:06:30] and I got a couple paragraphs.

[00:06:32] It happened not long before we started recording.

[00:06:35] Now, I would love if somebody from the band could do it in their own voice

[00:06:39] but if that's too heavy a lift, we can certainly take care of it from our end.

[00:06:43] I've got some great content but good reminder that we need content

[00:06:48] for our Christmas Party episode coming up next week.

[00:06:51] I've got something from Lenora Gilbert

[00:06:53] and I've got something from Lloyd so far but we would love to hear from you.

[00:06:57] Please send something in.

[00:06:58] That's right.

[00:07:00] Speaking of sending stuff in, we are holding steady with our reviews.

[00:07:05] We're still at 245.

[00:07:06] So if you haven't sent one of those in on the Apple Podcast app,

[00:07:10] we'd love for you to do that.

[00:07:12] Well, the good news is it's not going down.

[00:07:14] No, it's not going down and we'll we're reading them all.

[00:07:17] This one today is from E-A-N-E-N.

[00:07:20] E-N.

[00:07:21] That says, just the right dose of Christmas all year round.

[00:07:25] I found this show because of my subscription to the DTH feed

[00:07:28] and for a while I did not listen. Fair enough.

[00:07:31] But once I did start listening,

[00:07:35] I found just the right dose of Christmas for the Christmas enjoyer.

[00:07:40] This quick bite of Christmas joy are just right for someone who likes

[00:07:46] a little Christmas all year long without it being an oversized

[00:07:50] candy cane of Christmas.

[00:07:52] Brad and Scott give the joy of the season all year long.

[00:07:56] I like that.

[00:07:57] Listen, this is a quick bite size show, 20, 25 minutes every single

[00:08:02] week of Christmas joy.

[00:08:03] We could go on for 45 minutes if we wanted to but we intentionally

[00:08:07] try not to.

[00:08:08] We could go hours, Scotty.

[00:08:10] You and I could talk for hours each week about Christmas.

[00:08:13] No problem.

[00:08:14] But we don't.

[00:08:15] Right.

[00:08:16] And you know what sounds awesome, by the way?

[00:08:18] An oversized candy cane of Christmas.

[00:08:20] I would like to find that but that's just my personal take.

[00:08:23] Thank you E-A-N and you don't have to feel bashful about why

[00:08:27] you didn't listen.

[00:08:28] That's totally fine.

[00:08:29] I'm just happy that you're here.

[00:08:31] Absolutely.

[00:08:32] More than fair.

[00:08:33] Scotty, you got a joke for us?

[00:08:35] I do and I have good news.

[00:08:36] Okay.

[00:08:37] It's a listener provided joke.

[00:08:39] Fantastic.

[00:08:40] It's not a Scotty joke.

[00:08:41] The quality is going to go way up.

[00:08:42] By whom do we know?

[00:08:43] This was sent to us by Kristen Lowe and she found it on a

[00:08:46] Twitter post.

[00:08:47] She's not taking credit for it but she was the one that

[00:08:49] provided it to us.

[00:08:50] Are you ready?

[00:08:51] I'm ready.

[00:08:52] What do you call an elf that sings?

[00:08:56] Elfess Presley.

[00:08:58] Now we've done that one before.

[00:08:59] An elf that sings is called a rapper.

[00:09:02] Waka waka.

[00:09:03] See with a W.

[00:09:04] All right.

[00:09:05] Did you hear the W when I said it?

[00:09:07] Yeah, I think my problem with the joke.

[00:09:11] Yeah.

[00:09:12] Thank you.

[00:09:13] My problem with the joke is rapping is rapping.

[00:09:18] It's not singing.

[00:09:19] Singing is singing.

[00:09:20] Wrapping is rapping.

[00:09:21] Yeah, but what are you going to say?

[00:09:23] What do you call an elf that performs vocally in?

[00:09:27] What do you call a elf that is...

[00:09:32] See it's not so easy.

[00:09:33] He's a Mr. Smart Guy.

[00:09:34] No, I'm just saying that's why my head didn't go there.

[00:09:37] That's why I'm just trying to explain myself.

[00:09:39] I'm not trying to take away from the joke.

[00:09:41] I'm just trying to explain myself.

[00:09:42] All right.

[00:09:43] In the interest of keeping this at 20 to 25 minutes, let's do the countdown.

[00:09:46] Let's do it.

[00:09:47] Go to the world.

[00:09:51] 252 days until Christmas.

[00:09:57] Almost to 250, Scottie.

[00:10:00] Boy.

[00:10:01] Yeah, we're going to be under 250 soon.

[00:10:03] That's a big milestone in my book.

[00:10:05] Absolutely.

[00:10:06] Listen, I saw the number right before I was going to do it.

[00:10:08] I saw the number right before I was about to say it and I got a little excited.

[00:10:11] I got a little...

[00:10:12] Yeah.

[00:10:13] I got to be honest with you.

[00:10:14] 36 weeks, that's not bad.

[00:10:15] I saw a post on Twitter, Instagram, whatever it was.

[00:10:18] It doesn't matter.

[00:10:19] The other day and it said only 25 more Fridays until fall.

[00:10:22] That one felt like quite a bit.

[00:10:24] I don't know why that seems more than 36 weeks until Christmas.

[00:10:28] But, you know, math is hard.

[00:10:30] But I'm looking forward to it.

[00:10:31] 250 some odd days until Christmas.

[00:10:34] Give me some October 1st hope.

[00:10:36] Only 167 days until October 1st.

[00:10:39] Wow.

[00:10:40] 23 weeks on that one, which jives with the whole 25 weeks until fall thing.

[00:10:47] So it's coming.

[00:10:48] It's coming.

[00:10:49] Everybody get your stuff ready.

[00:10:50] Get those Christmas mugs out is what I say.

[00:10:52] More Christmas mugs, the better.

[00:10:54] That's what I always say.

[00:10:55] Here's the news.

[00:11:00] Today is April 17th.

[00:11:04] Oh my gosh.

[00:11:06] Calm down there.

[00:11:07] It's frantic today.

[00:11:08] Wow.

[00:11:09] It's frantic.

[00:11:10] You're not going to impress Judy with that kind of enthusiasm.

[00:11:12] Sure are.

[00:11:14] Megan Pataske has received a life changing Christmas gift.

[00:11:21] And you might be wondering how it's April.

[00:11:24] Well, here's how her mother gave all of her children a lottery ticket this

[00:11:32] past December for Christmas.

[00:11:34] And it's one of those things I think I've received one of these before,

[00:11:38] but you know sometimes you put like money or a lot of something in a stocking.

[00:11:43] My mom used to do the scratch tickets in the stocking.

[00:11:46] That was our thing every year.

[00:11:48] Yes.

[00:11:49] It was fun.

[00:11:50] It was a little thing to grab your lucky pen.

[00:11:52] Well, she didn't really do anything with the ticket.

[00:11:55] She finally in March of 2024 checked it and she was surprised to find out that

[00:12:06] for the past three plus months, Scotty,

[00:12:09] she has been holding on to a $7 million lottery ticket.

[00:12:15] That's tough because think of all the days of work that you had to go to

[00:12:19] between then and now.

[00:12:21] And I could have already had the contractor out building the whole Christmas

[00:12:25] mug wall with $7 million.

[00:12:27] That's amazing.

[00:12:28] Right.

[00:12:29] They were very shocked.

[00:12:30] Obviously this is tough because there's five kids in the family.

[00:12:34] It could have gone to any one of them.

[00:12:36] But what can you do?

[00:12:38] Sometimes you get a little bit lucky.

[00:12:40] They're already making some long term plans for all of the money that they have taken in.

[00:12:45] They're going to buy their dream house.

[00:12:48] They're going to pay off student loans.

[00:12:50] They're going to do all these things that they're excited to do.

[00:12:53] But just a reminder that sometimes you get those lottery tickets around the holiday season.

[00:12:59] Check them because you never know.

[00:13:03] You never know.

[00:13:05] The winning lottery ticket was purchased by her mother as a part of a $20 triple pack.

[00:13:11] Triple pack offers players a chance to try out three popular games simultaneously.

[00:13:17] And with one of those games being the daily grand tickets.

[00:13:22] And so that's what she ended up winning, the $7 million,

[00:13:25] which is the largest prize that you can win from the daily grand wherever this is taking place.

[00:13:30] I think maybe it's in Canada or something like that.

[00:13:33] But there you go.

[00:13:34] There you go.

[00:13:35] Question for you, Brandon.

[00:13:36] Go ahead.

[00:13:37] You have siblings, right?

[00:13:38] I do, yeah.

[00:13:39] One brother, two?

[00:13:40] I have three brothers, one sister.

[00:13:42] This is the exact scenario.

[00:13:44] Okay.

[00:13:45] I'm one of five.

[00:13:46] So I want you to put yourself into this scenario here.

[00:13:49] You don't even have to ask the question, Scott.

[00:13:52] I'd be so mad.

[00:13:54] Oh no, no, Michael.

[00:13:55] Okay.

[00:13:56] That wasn't my question.

[00:13:57] Go ahead.

[00:13:58] You're on the right track though.

[00:14:00] Would you feel obligated to share a significant amount of the money with your siblings?

[00:14:06] I think it's only fair to split.

[00:14:09] Splint.

[00:14:10] Personally.

[00:14:11] That's a lot.

[00:14:12] I know.

[00:14:13] I know.

[00:14:14] But for me, people would just be asking what happened to Scott?

[00:14:17] He disappeared and he's not returning messages.

[00:14:19] That's all you would hear.

[00:14:20] So you would cut out your family entirely?

[00:14:23] Oh, 100%.

[00:14:24] Okay.

[00:14:25] You know, no.

[00:14:26] I would put my sister's kid through college and everything else.

[00:14:29] You're on your own.

[00:14:30] And it would be like an anonymous thing.

[00:14:32] I don't know.

[00:14:33] Like Scott died and left money.

[00:14:34] That's it.

[00:14:35] But the thing is, it's not just like if I went a lot or ticket with a ticket

[00:14:39] that I bought, great.

[00:14:41] One, didn't buy the ticket.

[00:14:43] Your mom did.

[00:14:44] Right.

[00:14:45] Two, that ticket could have been in any of the five stockings or whatever.

[00:14:50] It absolutely could have.

[00:14:51] So it's not just the luck of winning.

[00:14:53] It's the luck of having that particular stock.

[00:14:56] So it's just like so many layers of luck there that I would feel obligated to split.

[00:15:02] So you're dividing this between five kids and your mom.

[00:15:05] That's 7 million goes a lot shorter.

[00:15:07] All of a sudden you went from life changing to this is nice.

[00:15:10] So you're a better person than I am.

[00:15:12] It's not all about money, Scotty.

[00:15:14] It's almost actually very, very little is about money.

[00:15:16] Yeah.

[00:15:17] You can easily say that when you have 7 million dollars.

[00:15:19] You know, it's a, but I'm saying, I'm saying that right now as somebody who doesn't have 7 million dollars.

[00:15:25] Yeah.

[00:15:26] I don't have 7 million dollars, Scotty.

[00:15:28] Yeah.

[00:15:29] Till next Christmas.

[00:15:30] Yeah.

[00:15:31] I, if I win us 7 million dollar lottery tickets, Scotty, I will give you some.

[00:15:35] Well, that's very nice of you.

[00:15:36] You know what?

[00:15:37] You could just buy me a new hoodie about that.

[00:15:39] I'll buy you a new hoodie.

[00:15:40] All right.

[00:15:41] Let's say a quick break.

[00:15:42] We'll come back and we will get to the TV as specials for the day and then also get to

[00:15:47] the Christmas music battle here on Christmas morning.

[00:15:54] We're back everybody.

[00:15:55] It is time for the TV listings for the week with TV Scotty.

[00:16:00] Scotty, do we got any Christmas TV that we could tune into for a little Christmas magic?

[00:16:06] We sure do.

[00:16:07] And you know what I was just thinking of?

[00:16:08] You don't even have to buy me a hoodie because I just bought a new sweater hoodie, Christmas

[00:16:12] sweater hoodie for Bramble Fest.

[00:16:14] I don't want to show you and I don't want to give away the surprise.

[00:16:17] But boy do I look good.

[00:16:19] I'll tell you.

[00:16:20] All right, Scotty.

[00:16:21] It takes a lot to make me look good and this one pulls it off.

[00:17:40] I didn't just put it up to you to tell me about this.

[00:17:42] I looked up what this movie was and if it was any good

[00:17:45] and how it relates to Christmas.

[00:17:47] And I have all those answers.

[00:17:48] So I don't need to bother you this week for it.

[00:17:50] And the average rating on this is 7.5 out of 10.

[00:18:12] Courtesy of MostlyChristmas.com.

[00:18:14] It's time for the Christmas music battle.

[00:18:17] Scotty, we got some instrumental tracks to get to in just a minute.

[00:18:21] But first.

[00:18:22] Wait a minute.

[00:18:23] What's that I taste?

[00:18:24] Is that your saltiness?

[00:18:25] Is that what I taste?

[00:18:26] Oh.

[00:18:27] Hold on.

[00:18:28] Hold on.

[00:18:29] Let's get to the results of last week's original Christmas music battle where there was a clear

[00:18:36] best song.

[00:18:37] Let's see if the people did the right thing.

[00:18:40] In last place is Christmas Joe's Dustless To Me by Matt Wurz.

[00:18:45] I see you copied my error into the poll.

[00:18:48] That's great.

[00:18:49] Thanks for showcasing that.

[00:18:51] You're welcome.

[00:18:52] That was from the listener.

[00:18:53] Drew Basic was the one who submitted that.

[00:18:55] Thank you, Drew.

[00:18:56] Was this second place?

[00:18:58] What's this?

[00:18:59] How is Santa Claus is real by Ben Rendell?

[00:19:02] I have to admit awesome song.

[00:19:05] I just love that.

[00:19:06] I thought it was great.

[00:19:07] Yeah.

[00:19:08] Yeah, Scott.

[00:19:09] It is an awesome song.

[00:19:11] You're right.

[00:19:12] By all accounts, I'm going to give you a little bit of a little bit of a little

[00:19:17] bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little

[00:19:21] bit.

[00:19:22] By all accounts, it should have won, but it only got 35.4% of the vote.

[00:19:27] I wonder what that means.

[00:19:28] All the bells by the Bandana splits.

[00:19:32] Bandana splits.

[00:19:33] Did you say bandana or bandana?

[00:19:35] I did say bandana.

[00:19:36] Okay, cool.

[00:19:37] All right.

[00:19:38] I was so busily listening to my winning song that I didn't hear you.

[00:19:42] I apologize.

[00:19:43] I don't want to say that there's a conspiracy out there.

[00:19:47] I do.

[00:19:48] It does start to feel that way.

[00:19:50] When you come in as hot as I do about, you know,

[00:19:57] who should win and why my song's the best song

[00:20:00] and stuff like that, you know,

[00:20:02] you get a little bit of pushback from people that go,

[00:20:04] you don't get it.

[00:20:06] And I to those people say, you don't get it.

[00:20:10] There was a clear best song.

[00:20:13] You all heard it.

[00:20:15] Scotty, you would agree.

[00:20:17] I don't care how you feel.

[00:20:19] This is a bop.

[00:20:21] This is so good.

[00:20:22] Thank you, Scotty.

[00:20:25] I believe you should have won,

[00:20:26] but you must be telegraphing something

[00:20:28] because I did get a message from friend of the show,

[00:20:30] Jessica Trinidad and she said,

[00:20:32] your song was the band, Dana Splitz

[00:20:34] and brand song was Ben Rendell.

[00:20:36] And I said, wow, yes, nicely done.

[00:20:39] And she just could have a very highly tuned ear,

[00:20:42] but maybe there's something to it.

[00:20:44] I don't know.

[00:20:44] You know what?

[00:20:45] Let's be very careful today.

[00:20:46] In fact, why don't I introduce the songs today?

[00:20:49] Yeah, let's do that.

[00:20:50] You won't give away anything.

[00:20:51] Let's do that, Scott.

[00:20:52] All right, let's do that.

[00:20:53] I'm not gonna show my hand,

[00:20:55] but here's a spoiler everybody.

[00:20:57] My song's the best.

[00:20:59] I haven't even heard the other two.

[00:21:00] And here's a spoiler everybody.

[00:21:01] I know how good mine is.

[00:21:02] My song is the surf guitar one.

[00:21:04] Okay, anyway.

[00:21:07] I have some trivia and obviously

[00:21:08] it's the instrumental week,

[00:21:10] so it's not about a particular song,

[00:21:11] but I think you'll like this one.

[00:21:13] Deck the halls started as a dance tune.

[00:21:16] The lyric, follow me in merry measure

[00:21:19] means join me in dance.

[00:21:21] And I guess I never knew what that was.

[00:21:23] Yeah, I thought it was just,

[00:21:24] I thought, I assumed, follow me in merry measure.

[00:21:27] I thought it was the measure of the song

[00:21:29] and it's inviting you to sing along.

[00:21:30] Yeah, I thought it meant sing along with me is what,

[00:21:33] but no, evidently it means join me in dance.

[00:21:35] How about that?

[00:21:36] Well, there you go.

[00:21:37] How about it?

[00:21:38] All right, Scottie, I'm gonna shut up now.

[00:21:40] Okay, so as not to give away anything,

[00:21:42] I will do the introductions to the song this week.

[00:21:45] The first is by Joel Patterson,

[00:21:48] an artist that we have heard on this show many times.

[00:21:51] This is Merry Christmas Baby.

[00:22:53] Oh, I love Blue's guitar.

[00:22:58] That just did it for me.

[00:22:59] Joel Patterson is great.

[00:23:00] Joel Patterson is great.

[00:23:01] The next song today,

[00:23:03] Oh Christmas Tree by Charlie and the Tropic,

[00:23:06] is it tropicals or tropicals?

[00:23:08] I'm not sure.

[00:23:09] It looks like tropicals.

[00:23:10] Yeah, citation needed.

[00:23:53] I like that.

[00:24:14] I love that kind of,

[00:24:17] would you call it like New Orleans style?

[00:24:19] Kind of that jazzy.

[00:24:20] I think that's fair.

[00:24:21] Yeah, I loved it.

[00:24:22] I liked it too.

[00:24:23] I'm not afraid to say anything now

[00:24:24] because you don't wanna give away which track was yours.

[00:24:27] All right, we'll find the third song today,

[00:24:29] God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Aqualads.

[00:25:23] Gee, I wonder who brought that song.

[00:25:33] It's good.

[00:25:34] It was me.

[00:25:35] I like it.

[00:25:36] Three great choices today.

[00:25:37] I love instrumental week.

[00:25:38] Always makes me so happy

[00:25:39] and I love looking for the songs.

[00:25:41] I find them easier to locate in band camp.

[00:25:44] I don't know.

[00:25:45] Maybe it's just me.

[00:25:46] Maybe it's some sort of selection bias

[00:25:47] but I enjoy it.

[00:25:49] We got listener submissions this week

[00:25:50] from Kim Gazzarec, Tony Dixon and Drew Basic.

[00:25:53] Thank you all for submitting.

[00:25:55] Let's get to next week.

[00:25:56] Obviously, we got two episodes next week

[00:25:58] which is very exciting.

[00:25:59] A reminder, please send in your submissions for...

[00:26:02] Now, two episodes but only one musical choice.

[00:26:05] We're obviously gonna play Little Red Ambulance

[00:26:07] because of course we will.

[00:26:09] They're like the house band at this point.

[00:26:11] They are the house band.

[00:26:12] If they could listen,

[00:26:13] they can make a new theme song

[00:26:14] for the next season of Christmas morning.

[00:26:17] We wouldn't be upset about it.

[00:26:18] Oh heck, I mean...

[00:26:19] We've had the same song since the beginning.

[00:26:22] Uh, whose pick is it?

[00:26:24] I don't know whose it is but let's call it yours.

[00:26:26] We have songs in the backlog.

[00:26:28] We have Merry Christmas.

[00:26:29] I don't want to fight tonight from the Ramones.

[00:26:31] We have Holiday Road.

[00:26:32] We have Baby It's Cold Outside.

[00:26:33] We have Underneath the Tree.

[00:26:35] Or you can just pick one.

[00:26:37] This is tough.

[00:26:38] It is tough but it's April

[00:26:40] so don't sweat it too hard.

[00:26:42] I'll go with one of the backlog

[00:26:44] so we'll go with Baby It's Cold Outside.

[00:26:45] Okay.

[00:26:46] A controversial song.

[00:26:47] It feels like we've kind of explained our way out of it

[00:26:50] a little bit here but...

[00:26:51] I love a duet.

[00:26:52] I love a duet, Scotty.

[00:26:54] Yeah, a duet is great.

[00:26:56] Go to Bandcamp.com.

[00:26:57] Search for Baby It's Cold Outside.

[00:26:59] Find a version you like

[00:27:00] and email it to me

[00:27:01] at Christmas Morning Podcast at gmail.com.

[00:27:04] There you go everybody.

[00:27:05] Do the right thing.

[00:27:06] Vote for the best song

[00:27:07] and we won't have the problem anymore.

[00:27:09] We won't have a problem anymore.

[00:27:11] Yeah, vote for the best song.

[00:27:13] Vote for the best song.

[00:27:14] Or reminder, Scotty won last week everybody.

[00:27:19] Don't do this thing.

[00:27:21] Where you try to out-pizza the HUD here

[00:27:25] and vote for Scott just so that I don't win

[00:27:29] because then things get away from us.

[00:27:31] You can't game the system like that.

[00:27:33] That's all I'm saying.

[00:27:34] Oh my gosh.

[00:27:35] For the love of all that's good and decent

[00:27:37] please vote for the song

[00:27:38] you think is brand because I don't want to hear this anymore.

[00:27:41] Please.

[00:27:42] Oh boy.

[00:27:44] I just really hope that Matt Nathanson

[00:27:48] what's that guy's name?

[00:27:49] Yeah exactly.

[00:27:50] Hopefully he has a version of

[00:27:52] Baby It's Cold Outside

[00:27:53] so I can finally win a battle.

[00:27:55] We'll see what happens.

[00:27:56] We're going to be back next week

[00:27:58] with two episodes until then.

[00:28:00] Merry Christmas.
