[00:00:02] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast
[00:00:12] It's the Christmas Morning Podcast, everyone join if you can
[00:00:18] Christmas greatest fans, Scott and Brent, here for you and me
[00:00:26] Welcome everybody to another episode of Christmas Morning. It's Thursday, it's November 21st. I'm Brandon and I am here with Scott. Scott, Merry Christmas.
[00:00:35] Merry Christmas, Brandon. I got a question for you today. What's that?
[00:00:39] Do you eat before you come up to the North Pole every day?
[00:00:42] No, I don't and I regret it every time to be honest with you.
[00:00:46] The food up here, not so good. Did you know elves eat kibble?
[00:00:50] No, the problem is the time that we start, I'm not hungry but by the time we're done, I'm very hungry.
[00:00:59] I got real bad news for you. The mailbag is full of food-related emails today.
[00:01:05] This couldn't come at a worse time. Let's do it.
[00:01:08] Alright, let's get through it.
[00:01:09] Letters, we get letters. We get stacks and stacks of letters.
[00:01:16] Eat kibble?
[00:01:17] Yeah, it's like dog food but elf food. The first email today is from Kent.
[00:01:22] It's four elves though, right? They're not eating dog food.
[00:01:24] They're not eating actual dog food. It's elf food but it's not good for humans.
[00:01:30] Okay, so the first email is from Ken. Ken is from the Chris Mawin YouTube channel.
[00:01:34] Ken says, hi guys.
[00:01:35] Yes, hello.
[00:01:36] After listening to you talk about Tony's gingerbread chocolate that you hang on the tree,
[00:01:41] I went to Aldi's food shopping and they had their Santas and ornaments that come in a bag, so I grabbed them.
[00:01:47] Unfortunately, the ride home was 30 plus minutes because of traffic and they didn't make it all the way.
[00:01:51] They were delicious but I never got to find out how long they would last hanging on the tree.
[00:01:55] Oh well, I will try again next week.
[00:01:58] And perk your ears up. The P.S. he added is very exciting.
[00:02:02] He said, P.S. Starbucks has the Tony's chocolate trees.
[00:02:05] Do they have the trees that we were looking at, Brian, with the really cool shapes on them?
[00:02:10] I don't know, but do they?
[00:02:12] I'm looking into this.
[00:02:13] Okay, Christmas morning people unite.
[00:02:15] If you have seen the Tony's chocolate trees that you can hang on the tree at Starbucks, please write in.
[00:02:22] Christmasmorningpodcast at gmail.com.
[00:02:23] We would love to know.
[00:02:25] Select.
[00:02:26] Yeah.
[00:02:28] Sorry, I've gone down a bit of a rabbit trail here.
[00:02:31] No, no.
[00:02:31] We've put it out to the people.
[00:02:33] We'll solve this, Brian.
[00:02:34] Okay, okay.
[00:02:34] Okay.
[00:02:35] I did Google it, and it does say that apparently there was some sort of purchase.
[00:02:40] One of the CEOs, I don't think it's the current CEO, but he purchased a 2% stake in Tony's chocolate.
[00:02:46] So I believe that may be why we're beginning to see Tony's chocolate in Starbucks, even though that CEO is no longer with the business.
[00:02:54] Well, I hope that's the case because I would love to pick one up.
[00:02:56] Me too.
[00:02:56] All right.
[00:02:57] The other email is from Adam Parker.
[00:02:58] And Adam is from the Merry Britsmas podcast.
[00:03:01] He was on a Tinseltoons episode with me earlier this summer.
[00:03:04] Check it out.
[00:03:05] He says, hey, guys, listening to you eat some British food this morning, the Cadbury Christmas puds are amazing.
[00:03:10] But did I just hear someone eat a Christmas pudding without steaming or microwaving?
[00:03:15] Oh.
[00:03:16] If so, that is not the way to eat it.
[00:03:19] Ideally, it's steamed with either custard or ice cream for a balance of flavors and heat.
[00:03:25] Just a bit of British advice, cheers, and keep up the jolly vibes.
[00:03:29] Okay, Brian, I told you that I had tried the pudding and didn't like it.
[00:03:32] You tried the pudding, didn't like it.
[00:03:36] Brian tried the pudding.
[00:03:37] We know he didn't like it, but he was nice about it.
[00:03:39] He wasn't nice about it.
[00:03:40] We all ate it cold.
[00:03:41] We did it wrong.
[00:03:42] I didn't know.
[00:03:43] I didn't either.
[00:03:44] So I opened up the box of half the goodies that Jill and Xavier sent that you sent to me.
[00:03:50] And I looked at the side of it.
[00:03:51] It indeed says to heat it up.
[00:03:54] So later in December, I am going to do that and I will provide a full report.
[00:04:01] Okay?
[00:04:02] Oh, poor Brian.
[00:04:03] We didn't read.
[00:04:04] We didn't read.
[00:04:05] And so in our defense, we don't do that over here.
[00:04:09] Yeah, that's true.
[00:04:10] The food comes and I expect to be able to eat it.
[00:04:14] Exactly.
[00:04:15] If food came out of, on a conveyor belt trough, I would eat from that.
[00:04:19] So we didn't have time to be right.
[00:04:21] Ain't nobody got time for that.
[00:04:22] Well, I'll get back to you on the, the heated up Christmas pudding.
[00:04:26] Okay.
[00:04:27] Steamed.
[00:04:28] Come on guys.
[00:04:29] It's a snack.
[00:04:30] It seems like this is a full-time job.
[00:04:32] I'm going to microwave mine, but it should be better.
[00:04:36] How about that?
[00:04:36] And you know what?
[00:04:37] You know, it might be really good on it though.
[00:04:38] Eggnog ice cream.
[00:04:40] Sure.
[00:04:40] That could be, Hey, why don't we just go do that now?
[00:04:43] Okay.
[00:04:44] All right guys, we'll be back tomorrow.
[00:04:46] Merry Christmas.
[00:04:47] No, no, no, no.
[00:04:49] So that's our emails for today.
[00:04:51] You know what doesn't take any explanation that came in the box from Jill and Xavier is,
[00:04:56] is the joke.
[00:04:58] That box of jokes.
[00:04:59] And that's an easy crack open and read situation.
[00:05:02] You don't got to steam these jokes.
[00:05:03] No, you don't.
[00:05:04] Have we tried though?
[00:05:05] They might be better.
[00:05:06] All right.
[00:05:07] Are you ready for it?
[00:05:08] I'm ready.
[00:05:08] What do you get when you cross a snowman with a baker?
[00:05:12] A snowman and a baker?
[00:05:14] Mm-hmm.
[00:05:15] I don't know.
[00:05:16] Frosty the Dough Man.
[00:05:17] Waka, waka.
[00:05:20] That's bad.
[00:05:23] That's tough.
[00:05:24] That's a tough one.
[00:05:25] Boy, we really tried on that one.
[00:05:26] We tried to sell it as hard as we could.
[00:05:28] But I guess, I guess we'll go do the countdown.
[00:05:30] Yeah, I love it.
[00:05:36] 34 days until Christmas.
[00:05:41] 34?
[00:05:42] Crazy.
[00:05:43] Feels like it was just 35.
[00:05:45] I know.
[00:05:45] It's crazy how that works.
[00:05:48] 34.
[00:05:48] You know why I like 34, Brad?
[00:05:50] Why?
[00:05:51] This is for all the homeschool kids.
[00:05:53] It's 17 times two.
[00:05:54] Okay.
[00:05:55] There you go.
[00:05:55] Wow.
[00:05:55] Look at you.
[00:05:56] Mm-hmm.
[00:05:57] How about that?
[00:05:57] What's your math lesson for today?
[00:05:58] You know what I'm excited about?
[00:06:00] What?
[00:06:00] And again, I'm taking it one day at a time.
[00:06:02] But next week is going to be a pretty big week.
[00:06:04] Yeah.
[00:06:05] When we hit the 20s?
[00:06:06] Yeah.
[00:06:07] Good golly.
[00:06:08] I can't even think about it.
[00:06:09] Can't think about that yet.
[00:06:10] No, no, no.
[00:06:11] I don't want to do it.
[00:06:12] Let's just stop right there.
[00:06:13] Stop thinking about it and get into the news.
[00:06:15] Let's do it.
[00:06:22] Today is Thursday, November 21st.
[00:06:26] Here's the news.
[00:06:29] It has been a big year, I think, for the Kelsey family.
[00:06:33] You know, you know you're Travis and you're whatnot.
[00:06:35] But here's what I'm going to do.
[00:06:37] We're not going to talk about Travis today.
[00:06:39] We're going to talk about Jason.
[00:06:40] Oh, thank goodness.
[00:06:40] Kelsey.
[00:06:41] Some are saying the superior Kelsey.
[00:06:43] Why is that, you might be wondering?
[00:06:45] I'm not.
[00:06:45] Because something that has happened over the past few years
[00:06:51] that we've actually talked about on their show before
[00:06:54] is a Philly special Christmas.
[00:06:57] An album that members of the Philadelphia Eagles put out
[00:07:03] and it actually was surprisingly good.
[00:07:06] Oh, I remember that.
[00:07:07] And that came out, I think, two or three years ago.
[00:07:10] And since then, they've updated it with a song or two.
[00:07:13] This year, they are putting out another single.
[00:07:17] And this is a fun one.
[00:07:18] It is a collaboration between Jason Kelsey and Stevie Nicks.
[00:07:23] Wow.
[00:07:24] Stevie Nicks.
[00:07:26] And I've heard the song.
[00:07:29] It is wonderful.
[00:07:31] And a real nice listen.
[00:07:33] And it is surprisingly like just a really, I've come to really enjoy the Philly album
[00:07:41] because it's like this, I don't know, it's just like hanging out with a bunch of bros
[00:07:44] singing Christmas songs, which you don't get a lot.
[00:07:47] So it's kind of a fun album to listen to.
[00:07:49] And it's surprisingly good.
[00:07:51] You wouldn't think about a bunch of football players coming together
[00:07:54] and doing this thing and it being good.
[00:07:56] The album is out on November 22nd and it's got some new songs for the year.
[00:08:03] Apparently, what they're saying is this is the last of the updates.
[00:08:08] We're not going to get any more Philly special Christmas after this year, but we'll see.
[00:08:12] Where there's money, there's more things to be made.
[00:08:14] So we'll see what happens.
[00:08:15] But a fun collaboration.
[00:08:17] Stevie Nicks, Jason Kelsey, the Philly special Christmas.
[00:08:21] It's real good.
[00:08:22] So there you go.
[00:08:23] When does the song come out?
[00:08:24] The song's already out, but the album itself comes out tomorrow, the 22nd.
[00:08:29] Got it.
[00:08:30] Okay.
[00:08:30] Boy, you know, if we could just get Travis Kelsey, Jason Kelsey, Kelly Clarkson,
[00:08:35] and Mariah Carey all together to sing All I Want for Christmas Is You,
[00:08:38] that's all I need for Christmas this year.
[00:08:40] I've heard that you can rig it.
[00:08:41] I think you could push it activated.
[00:08:43] So every time you walk by, you hear my favorite Christmas song,
[00:08:45] All I Want for Christmas Is You.
[00:08:46] That would be incredible.
[00:08:47] That's exactly right.
[00:08:48] And I think the big takeaway from these albums is that Jason Kelsey is a big fan of Christmas.
[00:08:54] And so I'm a big fan of him.
[00:08:56] Interesting story.
[00:08:58] Let's do this.
[00:08:59] Let's take a break.
[00:08:59] We'll come back and we'll get to the TV listings and today's Christmas music battle of Little
[00:09:04] Saint Nick.
[00:09:06] You're on Christmas morning.
[00:09:11] Welcome back, everybody.
[00:09:13] How you doing?
[00:09:14] How you doing?
[00:09:14] How you doing?
[00:09:15] How you doing?
[00:09:16] It's Bran and I am here with TV Scotty.
[00:09:19] TV Scotty walked in and it looks like you got your hands full today, bud.
[00:09:22] I sure do.
[00:09:23] Lots of specials.

[00:10:32] That was wonderful per usual.
[00:10:34] I don't even know why I have to keep saying it's wonderful.
[00:10:36] Everybody knows it's always wonderful.
[00:10:38] So thank you for your continued work.
[00:10:41] It's time for today's Christmas music battle, Scotty.
[00:10:44] And we're battling Little Saint Nick.
[00:10:46] Your thoughts on Little Saint Nick?
[00:10:48] Tough battle today, Bran.
[00:10:50] We've gone through almost all the good ones.
[00:10:52] I know.
[00:10:53] There are not a lot left.
[00:10:55] Let us never battle this song again.
[00:10:58] You think so?
[00:10:58] You think we're retiring Little Saint Nick?
[00:11:00] We need five more years of songs to build up.
[00:11:02] I don't really love this song.
[00:11:04] Sure.
[00:11:04] I used to really like it.
[00:11:05] The Beach Boys stuff, I like the Beach Boys quite a bit.
[00:11:09] But the Christmas stuff is just, this is the one they just play to death on the radio.
[00:11:15] And I just don't enjoy it anymore.
[00:11:17] Okay.
[00:11:18] Well, let's see if maybe a new version will.
[00:11:20] But I had to get to like page seven before we got to ones that either you or me or the listeners had not sent in before.
[00:11:28] I got bamboozled a couple times.
[00:11:29] I found one that I like.
[00:11:30] I found one and I was like, oh, this is great.
[00:11:32] I'm sure no one has sent this in.
[00:11:34] Oh, yeah.
[00:11:35] I played it like three years ago.
[00:11:37] Yeah.
[00:11:37] Yeah.
[00:11:38] But here we are.
[00:11:38] We got two new versions never featured on Christmas morning before of Little Saint Nick.
[00:11:42] Let's get started by a version by Snap Infraction.
[00:11:46] See, see, see.
[00:12:21] You know, it ain't Nick, but you're welcome to find candy apple red with a ski for a wheel.
[00:12:29] And with Danny.
[00:12:46] That was something.
[00:12:47] I liked it a little.
[00:12:48] Oh, here we go.
[00:12:50] You know, sometimes the annual with your buddy is like, I wonder what Little Saint Nick's
[00:12:53] doing.
[00:12:54] Snap Infraction.
[00:12:55] You got bricks real hard.
[00:12:57] I'll get your new text phone.
[00:12:58] That's right.
[00:12:59] As somebody who loves that song and the boss.
[00:13:05] I'm with Daniel on this one.
[00:13:06] Maybe it comes as no surprise that I didn't hate the Snap Infraction.
[00:13:10] Up next, we got Little Saint Nick by Cody.
[00:13:14] Okonski?
[00:13:15] Okonski.
[00:13:16] Okonski.
[00:14:15] Oh, a little poppy punky there.
[00:14:17] I liked that one.
[00:14:18] Yes.
[00:14:19] It sounded like Green Day.
[00:14:19] You always, you love it when a singer sounds like he's doing an impression of another singer.
[00:14:24] I don't know.
[00:14:25] I can't quite hit it.
[00:14:26] He was doing an impression of Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day.
[00:14:30] Yes.
[00:14:30] There you go.
[00:14:31] Two different versions of that song.
[00:14:33] Both a little bit more upbeat.
[00:14:34] Both a little bit more rocky.
[00:14:35] But two different styles of singing for sure.
[00:14:38] You can vote right now.
[00:14:39] Link is in the description.
[00:14:41] And that is going to take us to Friday's episode, Scotty.
[00:14:45] And everybody knows this by now.
[00:14:46] But Friday's instrumental day, which is always a lot of fun.
[00:14:49] Best day of the week.
[00:14:50] So come on back tomorrow.
[00:14:52] Enjoy today.
[00:14:53] Do something Christmassy.
[00:14:54] Watch something Christmassy.
[00:14:56] Whatever it is.
[00:14:57] Slow down and enjoy the season.
[00:14:59] Because it's happening.
[00:15:01] We're here.
[00:15:01] We're in it.
[00:15:02] Come back tomorrow.
[00:15:03] We'll be here.
[00:15:03] Until then.
[00:15:04] Merry Christmas.
[00:15:15] You're about to hear some ads that help pay for our trip back and forth to the North Pole.
[00:15:19] Feel free to listen.
[00:15:20] Feel free to bail now.
[00:15:21] But either way, thanks for being here.
[00:15:24] Ho, ho, ho.
[00:15:25] Ho, ho.
