[00:00:02] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast

[00:00:11] It's the Christmas Morning Podcast

[00:00:14] Everyone join if you can

[00:00:18] Christmas greatest fans

[00:00:20] Scott and Bram

[00:00:23] Here for you and me

[00:00:25] Hello everybody, happy Wednesday to ya

[00:00:29] It's the Christmas Morning Podcast, your daily Christmas podcast

[00:00:33] I'm Bram and I am here with my co-anchor

[00:00:37] Scott, Scott, good morning

[00:00:39] Hello Daily Brandon, it's good to see ya

[00:00:41] It's great to see you

[00:00:42] We're like, you know, we're a morning show

[00:00:45] In November and December we are, I like it

[00:00:47] We should call ourselves anchors, I'm Anchor Brand

[00:00:50] I would not be opposed to doing this professionally with you

[00:00:54] Although we would starve

[00:00:56] Yes, but it would be fun

[00:00:57] It would be the best kind of starving

[00:00:59] That's right

[00:01:00] Hey, the mailbag is still full despite a full week already of mail

[00:01:04] This is very exciting, what do we got today?

[00:01:06] Let's see

[00:01:07] Letters

[00:01:07] We get letters

[00:01:09] We get stacks and stacks of letters

[00:01:13] I've got a long email today from Mariel Abbott

[00:01:16] Mariel says, hello Christmas morning people

[00:01:19] Hello

[00:01:19] I wanted to write in and share a Christmas recommendation from me and my niece

[00:01:23] We love the prep and landing series from Disney

[00:01:26] My family spent the Christmas of 2020 at my brother's house for 10 days

[00:01:30] We all had a lot of vacation days to use up since we couldn't travel the rest of the year

[00:01:34] So a couple of days in I showed my niece, who was 4 years old at the time, the prep and landing series

[00:01:40] She loved them, but particularly clung to the phrase, jingle bam!

[00:01:44] That one of the characters says in the third short

[00:01:46] This became the go-to phrase to yell out as a spell to get grandpa to stop tickling her

[00:01:51] Or to stop the dragon, which was any one of us, from catching her in a chase around the house

[00:01:57] On our last day visiting, my brother was complaining that he never wanted to hear the phrase jingle bam again

[00:02:02] As he finished that sentence, my dad came running through the kitchen with my niece close behind him

[00:02:06] As she yelled, jingle bam, jingle bam, jingle bam!

[00:02:09] It might have been my proudest moment as an aunt

[00:02:12] To this day, my niece and I will shout, jingle bam!

[00:02:15] At my brother when we talk on FaceTime or anytime we are together

[00:02:18] To my brother's chagrin, she has also started to teach her 2-year-old sister this phrase

[00:02:23] I hope everyone has a safe and joyful Christmas this year

[00:02:25] And thank you to everyone at the Christmas Morning Podcast

[00:02:28] For keeping the spirit of Christmas in our hearts throughout the year

[00:02:31] And she signs off by saying, jingle bam!

[00:02:34] Jingle bam to you!

[00:02:35] Very nice!

[00:02:36] I love prep and landing

[00:02:38] It's a true classic

[00:02:39] It's a true...

[00:02:40] I don't think I've seen the third one though

[00:02:42] Really?

[00:02:43] I don't know what has happened

[00:02:44] I am going to right this wrong

[00:02:46] Thank you, Marielle, appreciate that

[00:02:48] And jingle bam to you, ma'am

[00:02:50] Jingle bam to you, ma'am

[00:02:53] Oh gosh, yeah, those are great

[00:02:55] And they're on the Disney Plus

[00:02:57] So you should...

[00:02:58] I know you've seen

[00:02:59] Really, really good animated series

[00:03:01] A lot of fun

[00:03:02] About the elves that...

[00:03:03] I guess they like...

[00:03:04] What would you say, Brad?

[00:03:06] They prep the houses for Santa, right?

[00:03:08] They prep for the landing

[00:03:10] For the landing, yeah, yeah, yeah

[00:03:11] If you will, if you will

[00:03:13] Kind of self-explanatory

[00:03:14] I know

[00:03:14] Really, really funny

[00:03:15] Short too

[00:03:16] So if you're not into long things

[00:03:18] I think they're half an hour long

[00:03:20] They're great

[00:03:20] Not enough Christmas specials like that

[00:03:23] These days

[00:03:24] So it's always nice

[00:03:26] Now we need more of those

[00:03:27] Like, that was the bread and butter

[00:03:28] Of my childhood

[00:03:29] Was animated Christmas specials

[00:03:31] That were 30 minutes long

[00:03:32] And I would do just a podcast

[00:03:34] About animated Christmas stuff

[00:03:36] I like it a lot

[00:03:37] Christmas joke time

[00:03:38] You got anything for us?

[00:03:39] Yeah

[00:03:40] What do snowmen call their offspring?

[00:03:43] Oh gosh

[00:03:45] Um...

[00:03:45] I don't know

[00:03:47] Children

[00:03:49] Waka waka

[00:03:50] So stupid

[00:03:52] Alright

[00:03:52] Well that's where we are

[00:03:54] How's everybody else doing?

[00:03:55] Everybody doing good?

[00:03:56] It's gold, Brad

[00:03:57] I don't know what you're talking about

[00:03:58] That's gold right there

[00:04:01] Um...

[00:04:01] You wanna do the countdown?

[00:04:02] Yeah, I guess

[00:04:03] I'd rather tell snowman jokes

[00:04:05] Fair

[00:04:11] 21 News

[00:04:16] 21

[00:04:17] 21

[00:04:18] Have some fun

[00:04:21] Um...

[00:04:21] Brad

[00:04:22] Once the numbers start going low

[00:04:23] I forget about mentioning

[00:04:25] How many weeks it is

[00:04:26] But it's probably worth mentioning

[00:04:28] El

[00:04:28] Three weeks exactly to the day

[00:04:30] Yowza

[00:04:31] What about until October 1st?

[00:04:34] Ah, it's like 300 and...

[00:04:36] I don't know

[00:04:37] 70

[00:04:37] No

[00:04:39] 65

[00:04:40] 390

[00:04:41] Somewhere around there

[00:04:41] How about that?

[00:04:43] Did you go to 370 first?

[00:04:45] I don't know

[00:04:46] But Brad

[00:04:46] It's early in the morning

[00:04:47] It's cold up here

[00:04:48] In the North Pole

[00:04:48] What do you want?

[00:04:50] Somehow it's December

[00:04:51] But it's also over a year

[00:04:53] Until December 1st

[00:04:55] Or November 1st

[00:04:55] Oh, you're right

[00:04:57] I don't...

[00:04:58] What in the world was I thinking?

[00:05:00] I'm gonna leave in my...

[00:05:01] I'm gonna leave my embarrassment

[00:05:02] In there

[00:05:03] My shame

[00:05:04] Hey, we've all been there, man

[00:05:05] I leave my embarrassment

[00:05:07] In on a daily basis

[00:05:08] I'm gonna say

[00:05:09] It's probably like 331 days

[00:05:11] Something like that

[00:05:11] That's probably closer

[00:05:12] I got some news if you want

[00:05:14] Yeah

[00:05:15] Today is December 4th

[00:05:22] 2024

[00:05:23] Here is the news

[00:05:26] Scotty, we do one of these type of stories

[00:05:28] Every year it feels like

[00:05:29] But I...

[00:05:30] Every single year

[00:05:31] But I never get sick of doing them

[00:05:33] Because I always need some inspiration for future trips

[00:05:37] Newsweek put out the list of the top 10 Christmas towns

[00:05:42] As voted on by featured panelists and contributors

[00:05:47] And voted on by readers as the best of the best

[00:05:52] You wanna hear some of them?

[00:05:53] Yeah, hit me with them

[00:05:54] Prescott, Arizona is number 10

[00:05:57] Oh, that's what I was thinking

[00:05:58] I know

[00:05:59] You always go straight to Arizona

[00:06:01] You know what bumped it up in the rankings?

[00:06:03] Lenora Gilbert lives out in Arizona

[00:06:05] Yeah, there you go

[00:06:06] That's probably why

[00:06:07] They got a lot of stuff going on

[00:06:09] Parades, live music

[00:06:10] They got a nice festive lighting of the courthouse

[00:06:13] And there is a very nice valley of lights

[00:06:17] That you can walk through

[00:06:18] Also apparently has the world's biggest gingerbread villages

[00:06:22] Whoa

[00:06:22] So, take that for what it's worth

[00:06:25] 9-11 Worth, Washington

[00:06:28] It says welcome to Christmastown

[00:06:30] I don't know how to tell you

[00:06:31] It's also known as the Village of Lights

[00:06:33] During the most wonderful time of the year

[00:06:34] Lots of lights

[00:06:35] Lots of Christmas activities

[00:06:36] Complete with Krampus, Grinch, etc

[00:06:40] Frankenmuth, Michigan

[00:06:41] Oh, Frankenmuth, of course

[00:06:43] That's where Bronner's is

[00:06:45] Bronner's

[00:06:46] So that kind of speaks for itself

[00:06:48] Give me the top three, Brian

[00:06:49] Let me just, really quick

[00:06:50] Aspen, Colorado, 7

[00:06:52] Santa Fe

[00:06:54] What is that?

[00:06:55] New Mexico

[00:06:55] 6

[00:06:56] Santa Claus, Indiana

[00:06:57] That goes without saying

[00:06:59] Fredericksburg, Texas

[00:07:00] Is number 4

[00:07:01] Number 3

[00:07:03] Healdsburg, California

[00:07:04] From tree lightings

[00:07:06] To night markets

[00:07:08] To complimentary carriage rides

[00:07:10] And photos with Santa

[00:07:11] It's a great place

[00:07:12] To spend Christmas

[00:07:14] Solvang, California

[00:07:15] Two Californians in the top three

[00:07:17] Get out of here

[00:07:18] Wow

[00:07:19] Not what I'm going to tell you

[00:07:20] But apparently they have a really nice

[00:07:21] European style market there

[00:07:23] And number 1

[00:07:26] Grapevine, Texas

[00:07:27] As the Christmas capital of Texas

[00:07:29] Grapevine spreads the holiday cheer

[00:07:31] Like no other city

[00:07:32] You'll find hundreds of seasonal events

[00:07:34] From magical rides aboard the North Pole Express

[00:07:37] To frigid slides carved out of tons of ice

[00:07:41] At the Gaylord Texan

[00:07:43] Wow

[00:07:44] Besides plenty of shopping and friendly fun

[00:07:46] The icing on the Christmas cake

[00:07:48] Is a life-size village

[00:07:49] That you can walk through

[00:07:51] To take Christmas card-worthy photos

[00:07:53] Isn't a life-size village just a village?

[00:07:56] Well, what it made me think though

[00:07:58] Was that somebody took the Christmas village

[00:08:00] And made it feel like you were shrunk down

[00:08:02] And walking through it

[00:08:03] Which

[00:08:05] I'm not going to lie, Brand

[00:08:06] I'm booking a flight already

[00:08:08] If that exists

[00:08:09] I want to know what they mean by that

[00:08:12] I'm going to Google it

[00:08:13] You know, Texas and California

[00:08:15] Were very heavily weighted in this list

[00:08:17] That surprises me

[00:08:18] I thought it would be cold places

[00:08:20] But maybe it makes more sense

[00:08:22] That they're warm

[00:08:22] Because, you know

[00:08:23] It's a little more hospitable for people

[00:08:25] I don't know

[00:08:25] It's a really cool list though

[00:08:27] Very cool list

[00:08:28] And it's always good to kind of

[00:08:29] I've gone to some of these towns

[00:08:31] That have been on lists in the past

[00:08:33] So the lists do work

[00:08:34] For what it's worth

[00:08:35] So there you go

[00:08:36] Some options for you

[00:08:37] If you're looking to travel

[00:08:38] Somebody there

[00:08:38] Somewhere this holiday season

[00:08:40] Scotty, let's take a break

[00:08:41] We'll come back

[00:08:42] We'll get to the TV specials

[00:08:43] And the Christmas music battle

[00:08:44] Of White Christmas

[00:08:46] Ooh, a good one

[00:08:47] Here on Christmas morning

[00:08:53] Welcome back everybody

[00:08:54] It is time for the TV specials of the day

[00:08:58] Read to you

[00:08:59] With very nice music in the background

[00:09:01] Bye

[00:10:59] Oh, we're back everybody

[00:11:01] That was nice

[00:11:02] I like that

[00:11:03] He's a good reader

[00:11:04] isn't he?

[00:11:05] He is the best reader

[00:11:06] isn't he?

[00:11:06] I'm a little biased

[00:11:07] A little

[00:11:08] Why?

[00:11:08] Are you guys related?

[00:11:09] No, no

[00:11:10] We pass each other

[00:11:11] once in a while

[00:11:11] They'll give us a high five

[00:11:13] on our way by

[00:11:13] We have the same name

[00:11:15] but we're not related

[00:11:16] per se

[00:11:17] No, per se

[00:11:18] Just related by name

[00:11:20] Let's get to the

[00:11:21] Christmas music battle

[00:11:21] This is always a good one

[00:11:22] White Christmas

[00:11:24] considered by many

[00:11:25] to be one of the best

[00:11:26] Christmas songs

[00:11:27] It's lovely

[00:11:27] It's nice

[00:11:28] It gives you good vibes

[00:11:29] Let's see if there's

[00:11:30] any other good versions

[00:11:31] of it on Bandcamp

[00:11:33] We've done a lot

[00:11:34] of these versions before

[00:11:35] and past battles

[00:11:36] So there's only so many left

[00:11:38] But let's see what we got

[00:11:39] Up first is White Christmas

[00:11:40] by Jeremy

[00:11:41] and the Harley Quinns

[00:11:44] Harlequins

[00:11:45] but okay

[00:11:45] Harley Quinns

[00:11:48] I dream of Christmas

[00:11:57] Just like the

[00:12:51] Ran, that was a fantastic version

[00:12:53] White Christmas is a song

[00:12:54] that I can get tired of

[00:12:55] pretty quickly

[00:12:56] There's like four or five

[00:12:57] absolutely classic versions

[00:12:59] I hear them all the time

[00:13:00] So to hear that

[00:13:01] that really kind of

[00:13:02] energized me

[00:13:03] That was fun

[00:13:03] That was real nice

[00:13:04] Up next though

[00:13:06] let's see if it can

[00:13:06] compete with it

[00:13:07] We got White Christmas

[00:13:08] by Josh Caterer

[00:14:00] That was a little bit

[00:14:00] of a hard drive inversion

[00:14:02] that I didn't expect

[00:14:03] Both of these

[00:14:04] were fantastic today

[00:14:05] Bran

[00:14:05] Very nice

[00:14:06] Very nice

[00:14:07] I think this is going

[00:14:08] to be a good battle

[00:14:08] Could be close

[00:14:09] We'll find out

[00:14:11] You can vote right now

[00:14:12] through New Year's Eve

[00:14:14] That's right

[00:14:15] Through all of 2024

[00:14:16] Once it's 2025

[00:14:17] you're out of luck

[00:14:18] Yeah there's nothing

[00:14:19] we can do

[00:14:19] Our hands are tied

[00:14:20] Nope

[00:14:21] We'll sole our souls

[00:14:22] to Ryan Seacrest

[00:14:23] and our hands are tied

[00:14:24] Yeah

[00:14:25] We're going to be done

[00:14:26] for the day

[00:14:26] We're going to go do

[00:14:27] some Christmas activities

[00:14:27] ourselves

[00:14:28] but we're going to be back

[00:14:29] tomorrow with another episode

[00:14:31] So come on back

[00:14:32] will you

[00:14:32] and share it with a friend

[00:14:33] Tis the season

[00:14:34] You don't want to miss tomorrow

[00:14:35] Tomorrow is going to be fantastic

[00:14:37] Wow

[00:14:37] Alright

[00:14:37] Calling it now

[00:14:38] Calling my shit

[00:14:39] He's calling it today

[00:14:40] Today lackluster

[00:14:42] This is like Babe Ruth

[00:14:43] pointing at the outfield

[00:14:44] That's me

[00:14:45] Everybody knows

[00:14:46] It's a big day

[00:14:46] Come on back will you

[00:14:48] Until then

[00:14:48] Merry Christmas

[00:14:59] You're about to hear

[00:15:00] some ads that help

[00:15:01] pay for our trip

[00:15:02] back and forth

[00:15:02] to the North Pole

[00:15:03] Feel free to listen

[00:15:04] Feel free to bail now

[00:15:06] But either way

[00:15:06] thanks for being here

[00:15:08] Ho ho ho

[00:15:09] You're about to hear from you

[00:15:09] I'm going to be here

[00:15:10] I'm going to be here

[00:15:10] I'm going to be here
